I think Lily's missing the point of the film here.

Yes, many fans are tired of DC's attempts to be "dark and edgy", but in this case most fans aren't going to hold that against this film. The original Justice League movie was so terrible that fans are legitimately curious about Snyder's original vision for the film. Is it going to be dark and grim, maybe even excessively so? Probably. Is it going to be a good movie? Who knows. But seeing a writer's original take on a film being completed and released after said writer was booted from production is a rare thing that it's got peoples interest. Even if Snyder's cut does turn out to be terrible, it'll at least answer the question of what the film could have been if corporate hadn't interfered, which is also a subject many critics and reviewers find fascinating and love speculating on, what a piece of media could have been if "X" hadn't happened.
If Zach, or anyone, changed the movie to make it "brighter" or more light-hearted it would defeat the purpose of releasing the "Snyder Cut" in the first place, and even then, there's no guarantee that it'd be good (just look at the original Justice League movie). If Lily really wants lighter and sillier content, there's plenty of media out there that'd she'd probably like if she'd put in the effort to look at stuff that isn't mainstream and already super popular.

"every movie should be the way I want it, even if it has no reason to be"
and Lily isn’t even a DC fan, she’s just a random entitled asshole who watches Big Bang Theory and wants to act like Sheldon

besides wanting attention and igniting an argument that she doesn’t intend to end outside her bubble, I don’t know why Lily is pretending to care about the Justice League movie

it is more of Lily's hypocrisy to say "stories don't have to be dark and edgy", while indulging these ideas in her writing in its most extreme forms that Snyder would never put in her film.
it's like she thinks that only she can use these themes correctly

Jerry just wants to complain every time something doesn’t suit his tastes. It’s always “Me, me, me”. Even though no one gives two shits about what he wants.

You're against tone policing, but not only do you advocate language policing, you tell any Anons that point out your shitty behavior that they have to stop being snippy or condescending. Or is this yet another case where it's okay when you do it?

I made the mistake of looking at clicking on a video about you in my recommended section and like... Jesus some of the ghoulish shit that gets said about you is just awful. Like, the lengths people will go to so they can stroke a hate boner for you is horrid. All these videos just linking to each other with unsourced claims (or worse, clearly fabricated documents that don't hold up under the slightest of scrutiny). Like... I know you admit to doing some bad shit when you were younger but these people really are out here just making shit up. You deserve better than this.

Lily you mentioned you worked with autistic kids before, do you think behavioral therapy is always bad? Especially for very young children?

No. It just requires positive encouragement instead of negative reinforcement. Reward good behavior instead of punishing bad behavior.
Too many parents and other adults have the attitude of “I shouldn’t have to reward you for something you’re supposed to be doing” and are then surprised when it doesn’t work.
I used to tell other volunteers “check your ego at the door.”

I just learned that the Q-slur can also be used as a verb that means 'to ruin or damage something', so the fact that LGBTA+ people continue to use this word has become 10 times more baffling.

I'm not going to go into the philosophy of linguistics or the evolution of language because we all know that Lily hates 'queer' because language policing gives her power (which is interesting that she's against tone policing, almost like one of those is advantageous to her and the other is not, huh).

I am going to mention that Lily condones the use of the word 'cunt', a word which as no similar etymological use except as a misogynist vulgarity.

Just, you know. It's funny what's considered acceptable language. Not ha-ha funny. 'Queer' funny.

I mean I personally still think of the word Queer as a slur, i.e Freakish, weird, etc.

Plus I have seen other people in the LBGT+ community on tumblr that also view it as a slur too due to living in areas where being called a queer was something that you didn't want to be called.
But if someone wants to 'reclaim' it and use it as a positive identity, I don't have a problem with that but do keep in mind that some do see it as a slur that has probably been used on them and aren't gonna be comfortable with being called queer.

It's their word, they get to decide how best to use it. That's how I see it anyway.

I searched this on English:

Queering is the verb form of the word queer and comes from the shortened version of the phrase "queer reading."[1] It is a technique that came out of queer theory in the late 1980s through the 1990s[2] and is used as a way to challenge heteronormativity by analyzing places in a text that utilize heterosexuality or identity binaries.[3][4] Queering is a method that can be applied to literature as well as film to look for places where things such as gender, sexuality, masculinity, and femininity can be challenged and questioned. Originally the method of queering dealt more strictly with gender and sexuality, but quickly expanded to become more of an umbrella term for addressing identity as well as a range of systems of oppression and identity politics.[1][2] Even the term queer itself can be queered, because much of queer theory involves working to fight against normalization even in the field itself.[1][5] In the context of queer theory, "queering is something we do, rather than something we are (or are not)." [1]
Maybe not the definition anon is talking about. Keep searching.

queer
verb
queered; queering; queers
Definition of queer (Entry 3 of 3)
transitive verb
1a: to consider or interpret (something) from a perspective that rejects traditional categories of gender and sexuality : to apply ideas from queer theory to (something)

b: to make or modify (something) in a way that reflects one's rejection of gender and sexuality norms

2old-fashioned
a: to spoil the effect or success of (something)

b: to put or get (someone or something) into an embarrassing or disadvantageous situation
That last definition is the only one I have found on other sites, like this one, and it's the only one that comes anywhere close to what that message said. "To ruin or damage" sounds more dramatic than "to spoil something or embarass someone".

Old-fashioned means that people don't use it like that anymore, Liliana. It seems this is an old fashioned british saying on top of that that even British people are forgetting, so why should anyone everywhere else care about this one particular connotation? I know your vocabulary is limited but, come on, this one should be pretty easy. I never understood her argument that the word queer is bad because it means something else in German (which was incorrect/a lie, as Essence of Thought pointed out on this video). One of the comments points it out too:

German here: "quer" is virtually only used in the modern sense you mention i.e. "across" or "diagonal". Another meaning can be "strange", "weird", or "unconventional", but it is rarely used that way, mostly in the noun "Querdenker", which can mean "unconventional thinker" or "contrarian", depending on the context.

Just for fun I googled Queer Canada to see what was the general position regarding that word. Maybe this stupid hate boner she has for the word comes from her own environment, and it's a position widely shared by people around her. But that wasn't the case:

It looks like people who have used the word have been a lot more work and positivity for other people that Liliana has done in her life, once again. But this wasn't enough, so I googled "queer is a slur in Canada" and:

“The word queer, it was almost a disgusting word,” says Vancouver city councillor Tim Stevenson, 73, who came out nearly six decades ago.

“I fought against it — ‘There's nothing queer about us!’ But over time, as generations have come into the gay rights movement, a lot of people have reclaimed this and use it in a positive way, so I too have made a change in how I view the word.”

-

“A term becoming more widely used among LGBT communities because of its inclusiveness. ‘Queer’ can be used to refer to the range of non-heterosexual and non-cisgendered people and provides a convenient shorthand for ‘LGBT.’ It is important to note that this is a reclaimed term that was once and is still used as a hate term, and thus some people feel uncomfortable with it.”

For Osmel B. Guerra Maynes, “queer” is a term that can be used by anyone, although differing intentions still exist.

“You put power to words. I see it as accepting a word that made us feel like lesser beings saying ‘This is not a word you can use anymore to say that we’re worthless and mean nothing. We’re taking it back and sharing it,'” says Maynes, the executive director of QUMUNITY, B.C.’s resource centre for queer, trans and Two-Spirited people.

Queer

Historically a derogatory term used as a slur against LGBTQ2 people, this term has been reclaimed by many LGBTQ2 people as a positive way to describe themselves, and as a way to include the many diverse identities not covered by common LGBTQ2 acronym.

Huh.

"I shouldn't have to praise you for doing the thing you should be doing."
Lily, this is literally word-for-word the mindset you carry through all your criticisms of LGBT+ representation. Funny enough, you ARE surprised when it doesn't work there. You vigorously deny the idea that attitudes like yours make people less willing to write diverse casts in case they get it wrong (this is true), instead doubling down and completing this self-fulfilling prophecy.
(P.S. I know some people have problems with the word "queer", so I always just say "LGBT+" instead. Lily's criticisms of "the q-slur" are still bullshit, though.)

So I decided to do a reading of the Sith Resurgence together with a friend of mine, just for the fun of it and my friend is a huge Star Wars geek so it's fun to see him sperg out. And I'm here sperging out about the low level of writing there is in each chapter (we're at chapter 8 of 39). The biggest flaw I can see right now is that Jerry has no talent whatsoever in writing battle scenes, I've never felt so un-entertained in my life and I just can't for the life of me empathize with the characters.
And my friend's biggest gripe is that Aliana is such a self-entitled big and powerful Sith but she's such an insult to everything the Sith stands for. If anything, Aliana is a Dark Jedi, and Ren the gray one.

Funnily enough though this gif kind of encapsulates Lily as a personality. In this exchange Lily's platform makes her the powerful one, and she's tweaked it to where every conversation or criticism ends when she wants it to, so when an anon points out to her that she never properly addresses criticism, she just resorts to a sassy comeback and ends the exchange because her persona falls apart under scrutiny.

Sometimes I wonder if Lily is really making content for us Kiwis.

You do have to prove that you didn't author pedophilia, since the preponderance of evidence is on the side of the accusers, else everyone's gonna keep calling you a pedophile ;)

Mikay no... “ she’s saving so much time. Isn’t she the best? “ It takes less time to not engage at all. That ask about not stepping up to defend her fiancée’s honour really must have rattled Mikay. But she’s horrible at it at best and digging lily’s grave at worse.

She thinks chemistry implies bickering but it's not. It's the quality of a couple in which you can see them working together as a couple (finishing each other's sentences, lauhging at the same jokes, singing the same song at a concert, etc) even before they become a couple and before they develop actual affection towards each other. The reason why people liked couples like Pamela and Jim from The Office is because the series spent a good amount of episodes setting up how these people "click" together despite their differences, long before they were together or even single.

I'd go as far to say that without chemistry the affection is less meaningfull because then they become empty gestures that could be directed at anyone and have no narrative significance. But I really don't expect the person willing to marry someone "that is not special at all, just there" to have any idea of how romance works, as a genre or in real life.

Lily's idea of romance is that you having a relationship with someone who is identical to you, not someone who just has the same interests but with different interpretations and opinions, someone who thinks the same way as you (or pretends to avoid conflict) and validates all her feelings, someone who says that she is always right and accepts all her faults and demands without expecting improvement or any romantic act besides "being there".

A.K.A, Lily wants to date a subservient version of herself
