I hope this doesn't count as necro-ing, but the thread specifically about Chris' reaction to the death of some guy at Nintendo he's never met nor talked to seems far more compassionate than any other time I've seen, including the death of his own father, aunt, girlfriends, etc.
Well, I think really with the girlfriends, the issue was that they weren't actually his girlfriends. For all he claimed to be in love with them forever, he never actually had any kind of relationship with them. The odd thing isn't that he didn't mourn them, it was that he claimed to be emotionally attached to them in the first place.

That's the one thing about Bob's death that's kinda creeped me out.
He claimed during that lemonade sale thing that he was doing it for "my father, Robert Chandler, who died of cancer" or something like that. He's also claimed it a few other times on other cancer support pages on facebook.
Maybe @Marvin or another person would know more; but does Chris actually think Bob died of cancer? Or is it something else we're missing?
Because I was under the impression it was old age, illness, and then those bedbugs or whatever it was.

Unless I'm mistaken, Robert Chandler died of heart failure/congestion.

I don't know if Chris sticks to a consistent story. He's pretty fuzzy on the details with things like this. Like, I think he's talked about how Barb survived breast cancer before. I'm guessing Chris heard something about Barb going to a doctor, the doctor finding a benign tumor, removing it and then Chris treats that as if Barb survived breast cancer.

It might've been something like that with Bob.

Ah yes, I remember this bit now; thanks for reminding me. I knew it was some illness (non-cancer related)

I see; so he knows Bob went to the hospital and maybe he doesn't know much else. Is it possible he is mixing Barb's medical history up with Bob's?
I remember Chris posting on a couple facebook pages that Bob had cancer, I'm not sure if I've ever seen him mentioning Barb may have had cancer... so I'm just wondering if it's possible Chris doesn't really know who had what and is half-assed parroting something Barb may have told him in passing.

Sometimes Chris may appear a certain way, but we don't know the full story, in part because his internal thoughts are different than what a normal person would have.

He wasn't really concerned when his father went to the hospital, not because he didn't care about him, but because he was in denial about the fact that his death was imminent and that manifested in a dream where the Grim Reaper told himhe had a few more years left. But we didn't find out about this dream until much later and at the time it appeared he was more interested in his tomgirl antics than his father's worsening health.

Also Chris is dumb and had a childish mind.

Many people assume Chris to be an emotionless monster. Sure, he's an autistic weirdo who values himself above all others and doesn't really know how to interact with people and can't think of an original message, but he's not Hitler. Don't treat him like he's less than human, we're just here for the lulz.
You just have to watch his old YouTube videos to see he gets really emotional with things that affect him directly, although he's not particularly empathetic due to his various issues.

This is odd because Chris specifically mentioned that Bob had congestive heart failure (and referred to his "foot swellings") in a number of Facebook posts, so he was at least aware at one time. I can't really blame him for not wanting to mention the bug bites: that's one piece of information that most normal people wouldn't want to share with anyone.

Knowing Chris, his saying Bob had cancer may have been calculated in order to garner more sympathy / pity points (yeah, I'm being rather cynical here, but this is Chris, and it's at least ***possible***).

Remember, Chris, out of the blue, claimed that Barb was a breast cancer survivor despite never having mentioned it ever before and there being no evidence (at least none that anyone could find) to support this claim.

Eh, Chris very rarely makes something up out of whole cloth. I'm pretty sure there's some interpretation of this that gives Chris "cause" to say that Barb dealt with breast cancer, even if it's as silly as finding a benign lump.

And there's lots we don't know about the day-to-day habits of 14BC. They do everyday stuff that we don't talk about because it's boring.

I don't even believe he had that dream. It's too neat. My theory is that he was indeed in denial when Bob went into hospital, or at least not giving any serious thought to the possibility that Bob might die. Old people have a lot of health problems and at that time, the only death Chris had ever experienced that affected him was his dog. Then when Bob went to that great logging camp in the sky, Chris just couldn't deal with it. But at the same time, there was no one he could really blame. Bob was very old and in very poor health. So, as with his sweethearts, his daughter and his career aspirations, he invented a prophetic dream so he'd have something to really rail against. Can't argue with prophetic dreams, that shit's in the Bible.

Is it possible that Bob had cancer, but that wasn't what killed him? Alternatively, were Borb old enough that they still considered cancer a taboo subject, resulting in Chris getting a messed-up idea about it?

I think he had some kind of dream or he wouldn't be so pissed. Chris believes he has vague magic powers and that his dreams are prophetic assurances to him that his future won't suck.

If Bob was over 80 when he died, it was likely he had had at least one prostate cancer scare. Prostates start to go funky after age 70.

But Chris was clear before that Bob died of congestive heart failure, so not sure where the retconning comes from.

... why the shoulder? I'd be kind of weirded out if I was randomly kissed on my shoulder while studying.

But maybe I'm crazy.
I dunno. I've done it and had it done to me. It wasn't so weird at the time. I think it would be if you just went up and did it. It kinda needs to be a certain situation. It's not like it's a make out session with someone's shoulder. It's just a quick peck to show affection. This article, in general, is not what someone should rely on of they want to keep a mate. It's kinda like those girly magazines that show "10 ways to blow his mind in bed". While they might have a few good ideas, they shouldn't be the whole of your knowledge.
