ETA: Disregard what I said about the abortion below. In the “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” video, she simply says that years ago when she was with Peetz her birth control failed and she and Peetz decided they were not ready for parenthood. No idea how I misremembered it so clearly and so badly but the real story is far less salacious and awful. Sorry about that!
Regarding the abortion: In the sobbing breakup video, Chantal said that she aborted the baby because she wasn't ready to leave Peetz yet but the baby would have been black, and the breakup was her karma for aborting Bibi's child. My only reservation about this story is that if she was sure it was Bibi's baby, I think she would have used it to lock him down, insisting they move in immediately or marry or some such. But human motivations can be odd and messy so who knows, but I do recall her saying that she aborted the baby to cover her ass because she was certain the baby was not Peetz's and skin color would have given away her infidelities.
Regarding her imminent death: Those who say that megafats can linger in a miserable state far longer than expected are correct because indeed they can. But those people have and do things that Chantal refuses to do or cannot do and therein lies why she will be dead in eighteen months, tops.
There are some stark differences between the very sick people on MSHPL and Chantal.
--Denial. Chantal will occasionally cop to the mess happening in her carcass but always walks it back. Currently she insists she does not have high blood pressure, diabetes, fupa rot and lung clots (which is evidently asthma now, guize). If she refuses to admit she has these ailments, she has no reason to change with any level of life-saving urgency. The pantloads on MSHPL all may have the same number of potentially terminal conditions, but they also admit they have them and understand the gravity of the situation.
--Non-compliance. Chantal will never, ever do anything a doctor tells her to do. She will not lose weight, of course, but she also will not fill prescriptions, wait the recommended duration to see if meds work, take meds on a schedule, learn proper dosing or delivery methods, etc. So many scenes in MSHPL show patients with tons of prescription bottles in the kitchen or on their bedside tables. They're sick but they take the meds that keep their overtaxed hearts beating.
--No support network. There have been a few outliers but for the most part the MSHPL folks live with people who enable them but also nag them to take their meds, insist they shower or give them sponge baths, keep their immediate surroundings free of trash, filth and debris. Peetz may be on fupa watch, he may put her socks on for her, but is he wiping her ass? Is he nagging her to shower to keep her rotting skin in check? Does he remind her to take her medications? Does he go behind her and pick up the food debris she leaves littered on the floor so she doesn't trip on it or get roaches in her bedroom? Will he deliver her injections since she cannot reach the part of her carcass that contains her navel? Bibi did those things and it was a godless endeavor and Peetz is no Bibi, as we all know. Mama Sarault has a dying mother to tend to and lives an hour away. Sister ain't coming into that shit shack to clean up and cajole her ticcing and hissing sister into pharmacological compliance. And beyond those three people she has no one else. She's alone.
--Sub-par intelligence. The outliers who live almost wholly on their own also had the intelligence to care for themselves, however badly they did it since they ended up on a television show that permits us to gawk at fatties. But the loner fatties often had educations, proper jobs - like computer programming they could do from home - that gave them insurance to afford medications, had homes that they could move around in without stairs, let health workers into the house to help them, etc. Chantal is an idiot, relies on an unstable form of work, slept through nurse visits to pack her rotting back hole, and will soon be confined to the middle level of the apartment where there are no shower facilities because she cannot scale the stairs. She specifically got that apartment because the stairs would force her to workout, not considering that soon she would have to choose between her bed and sitting in front of the fridge, showers and sitting in front of the fridge, changes of clothes and sitting in front of the fridge.
So yeah, lots of fatties have it bad. I suspect there are some with severe uncontrolled diabetes, fatty liver disease, blood clots in their lungs, constant tunneling skin infections, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, lymphatic system failure that causes one side of the body to be visibly more bloated than the other, a failing adrenal and endrocrine system, enlarged spleen and horrific intestinal issues that result in near-constant diarrhea. But if so, they have mitigating factors to keep them alive, factors Chantal does not.
If she lasts until summer of 2022, it will be a miracle.
