To me that’s a difference between rushed and unfinished. The base game has all of its necessary content and little to no glaring bugs. I’d argue No Man’s Sky and Cyber Punk were closer to being unfinished.It was clear from the fact huge swathes of content are missing from the story (either repackaged as movies or DLC) and the plot points that are there come and go at a breakneck pace (I literally lol'd at how fast Noctis and his woman get reunited then she instantly dies) that the game was rushed out the door because SE were tired of throwing money at it and needed to recoup some investment.
It's still a decent game, overall, but it is abundantly clear it wasn't ready to be released.
though they did cut a ton. I followed the game since it’s initial reveal, and as a result I had a much deeper understanding of the narrative than someone who just played the game and watch the anime and movie ever got. That was definitely a failure on square’s part
