I remember last year on this thread we where discussing the death rates in regards of whether or not the virus potential of killing blacks in higher rates was an occurrence. Then that idea was scoffed at as some racist observation, despite the rates of hypertension in the black community are astronomical.

Then of course we had the Saint Floyd riots, that of course did nothing but demonstrate the sheer and utter ignorance and hypocrisy of this entire response.

Either way, this changing of the narrative to favour some ridiculous virtue signal is quite ironic all things considered. The vaccine gives some people some hope to a degree, so let them take their photoshoots and selfies. If that is what it takes to let society resume at some level, let the feeder mice get the injections of the vaccine. It just will fine tune it for those who that aren't stupid enough to jump on the trend train, to eliminate the potential problems this vaccine has already demonstrated in certain folks.

We are reaching our one year anniversary of our collective nightmare of when the entire world stopped. Let the lemmings chuck themselves off of cliffs, so a better protection method to those that actually have spent the last year paying attention. Opposed to jumping on virtue signalling bandwagons, because either way we still dont have enough data to determine if this is the best course of prevention for the more vulnerable.

I am not anti vaxx in any aspect, but data is data. It is impressive that the scientific community has managed to at least produce something that could prove some end to the madness. Whether or not the fucking thing works will be determined when Miss selfie has long term damage from the "cure TM."

Either way the virus is getting weaker as it is mutating, already by the trend lines in regards of the IFR. We can make the determination that this sequel to SARs, didn't kill 10-15 of the population, as was feared when we where discussing this last year. Those that didn't get the vaccine are probably just as good off, especially considering that this virus is endemic in nature. It'll get weaker and eventually be nothing more than a cold for those that catch it in the ladder half of its lifecycle.

Just like every trend this will burn out with the rest of them. If anything it is a marketing campaign, nothing more, nothing less.

Climate Warriors Silent on COVID Mask Pollution​

Masks have been permanent staple of American life for the past year. Recommendations change like spring weather, from none to one to two or more, all based on flimsy evidence from the “follow the science” crowd.
Last March, the World Health Organization recommended no masks for individuals “unless they are sick with COVID or caring for someone who is sick.”
The esteemed Dr. Anthony Fauci agreed saying, “There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask… And, often, there are unintended consequences.” How right he was, in an unintended way.
Last month, Dr. Fauci made the case for two masks. After all, if one is good, two or more must be better. Try that with your prescription medications and see how that works out.

Gov. Newsom wants his California subjects to wear two masks, hoping to suffocate voters ahead of his recall election. He describes states that are now ditching their mask diktats “absolutely reckless”. He did not apply that descriptor to himself after posting, “a video of himself inside a restaurant in an area of the state where indoor dining is still banned in response to the coronavirus pandemic.” Where he was wearing only one mask while he flouted his own rules.

The unintended consequences Dr. Fauci referred to included face touching as people fiddle with their masks, contaminating their faces and fingers, defeating the purpose of a face covering. There is another consequence receiving no attention, mask pollution.

Masks act as air filters rather than barriers. A barrier would be one of those space suits with a self-contained breathing apparatus worn by researchers in the most secure biolabs like the one at Fort Detrick.

Masks filter the air, to a greater or lesser degree, depending on the type of mask and fit. As filters, masks capture virus in inhaled room air, or exhaled by the mask wearing person if they carry the virus. Masks are like the filters in your furnace, capturing dust blowing through your ventilation system, turning the filters black.

If such a filter was in the ventilation system of a bioweapons lab, capturing lethal viruses, would it be tossed in the trash along with coffee cups and candy wrappers? It certainly would not, instead considered hazardous biowaste, decontaminated, and disposed of safely.

Why are not masks treated similarly? If masks are filtering out the deadly coronavirus, why are they not treated as medical waste rather than normal trash tossed on the ground or in the nearest rubbish bin?

COVID can persist on inanimate surfaces for up to nine days, yet infected masks are being discarded anywhere and everywhere like cigarette butts. Why are not masks considered medical waste? What if a hospital discarded bloody waste or used hypodermic needles in the regular trash?

Beyond the biohazard risk, what are masks doing to the environment?

I understand that it's not possible to make any claim with 100% certainty especially given the short timespans involved, but their constant repetition of this bullshit essentially makes them the number 1 exponent of anti-vax sentiment in the world. If nothing is going to change regardless of whether you get vaccinated or not then what is the fucking point of all this shit. Absolute incompetence and buffoonery.

Dr. Fauci made me anti-vax (only for COVID though). I mean, he flat out said that the vaccination only lasts a few months anyway, which is how flu shots work. So anyone that has taken the vaccine already will just need to take it again next winter.

Of course she did. I think the minimum wage hike is a terrible idea but the hypocrisy here is just bonkers.

The result of the lockdown and social isolation especially has created so much depression it's going to take decades to fix these problems.
The teens and uni students have lost a big chunk out of their lives where they learn social skills and can just be happy and relaxed and free. They are never gonna get this back. In the meantime, they are getting schooled by middle aged covidians who say : "we have gone through the war, this is nothing". First, you know nothing of war. My country has been at peace since the 2 WW.
The youth is not whining. They just want to go back to normal.
Alot of people (here in my country) think that staying in this covid Limbo is going to somehow help us in the long run.

Boomers and GenX have had the cushiest lives up until this point. Vietnam was hard on the actual soldiers and their families, but that didn't affect everyone the way this scamdemic is. Children are absolutely the most affected due to lockdowns and fear mongering. It boggles the mind how much adults in the world don't care about children these days.

I've heard people flat out say "I wish more people died from COVID so everyone would start to take it more seriously."

The idea that COVID isn't as deadly as they believe will never been a consideration. Hell, they want it to be MORE deadly just to prove the "alt-right Nazis" wrong.
