He stills needs a court order to force them to leave even if they don’t have a signed lease. You can’t allow someone (especially family) to live with you permanently, arbitrarily decide to remove them, and just throw them out immediately. It’s something people threaten, but it’s not legally enforceable. It would take at least a month (likely longer), and it’s Tammy who would ultimately have to pay for all of the costs. The big kicker is this: once the child of a narcissist shows signs of freedom or pulling away, the narcissist will start pushing back hard. In this case, Jr. could possibly end up homeless if the pushback is strong enough. At any point Jack could kick them out of the house and depending on the situation, not have to give them any warning, notice, or timeline for eviction.
I dont’ doubt that Jack would threaten it. He could even go to the extreme of calling the police, but even if he did, they can’t and won’t do anything to help him other than voluntarily asking Junior to leave. I doubt Junior is smart enough to realize his rights and stand up for them, thus much of this is academic, but there’s no way legal way he’ll wake up homeless.
