If memory serves though, Yaniv's mortgaged to the hilt. When Papa Yaniv died, the family house was sold for a tidy sum and the money split to pay for the deposits on Jonny and Miriam's seperate units. If they'd been frugal and JY had worked at a real job they'd probably comfortably own or be close to owning their respective units right about now. Instead they're spendthrifts and have piled debt upon debt and could never dream of actually owning the little places they call home.Yaniv wouldn't receive much in income assistance as the amount tops out at around $1200 a month I believe, the condo he lives in seems fairly modern and middle class, knowing the cost of housing in metro Vanouver, even in Langley it seems unlikely an individual on income assistance would have as nice of a condo as he does.
I think Yaniv's family might be fairly well off despite not deserving it at all.
