As someone who frequently watches lefty content, the algorithm will recommend me smaller lefty channels. Most are forgettable but sometimes they're either completely lolcow shit or are very interesting. The algorithm recommended me his leaving the alt-right pipeline video. Which is probably his best video in hindsight, despite it's flaws and him not really ever being alt-right. I figured fuck it and gave another video of his a shot.

It was shit, full of misinformation, lies and edgy jokes that fell flat as fuck. It felt like a shittier destiny video. But his dumbass audience was eating it mostly up, there was the woke types expressing concern about his language but it was mostly a positive reception.

I think the main reason he was initially getting views was because his content and titles are incredibly inflammatory and click baity, such as implying JonTron wants to bring slavery back or shitting on formerly popular content creators. But due to him being a charisma vacuum and getting rekt in debates by destiny, willy mac, korviday, and cult of dusty. People stopped watching him.

Breadtube hates him because he's an idiot that'll make sexist, ableist, and racist jokes despite the fact that he was trying to get the breadtube audience.

Commentary community hates him because he's an open and obvious grifter and clout chaser.

Debate community hates him because he's dumb, dishonest and his only argument is calling people pieces of shit without ever expounding upon why said person is.

Not to mention he's long-winded as fuck and takes forever to make a point. The video of him bitching about the algorithm only needed to be at most 5 minutes long, but it's 19 minutes long, I skipped 14 minutes of the video and felt like I missed nothing.

Compare that to someone like perspective philosophy, another leftist YouTubes algorithm recommended me, he focuses on socialism and veganism, two ideologies I don't agree with, but his videos are straight to the point and his arguments are very well formulated and interesting to listen to. I keep watching his content because it's good and interesting to think about.

Xanderhal doesn't have this going for him, he's just a boring consoomer with mild takes.

The writing is absolute trash and one of the worst arguments i've ever heard against capital punishment relying on emotions and specific british legal cases to bolster what amounts to "I don't like this, it's barbaric" rather than say, talking about the costs associated or the ethics of if the state should be able to do that & why, etc. The argument for prison abolishment is even more poorly constructed as Olly mixes up bail and prison abolishment, a slightly left stance most people & professionals agree with and a radically left stance few people believe in.
