Season that last fact with the fact that heterosexual men are going to face much more stigma for reporting than gay men would, not that any wokester would admit something so obvious. That if there is any heterosexual demographic that actually receives more abuse than LGBTQ from their chosen partners, it's the straight men.

Tl;dr the various sundry forms of faggot are all, to varying degrees, comparably toxic or more toxic in their relationships than heterosexuals. Surprise surprise.

Spoiler: Stats spergery

If you look at the actual tables then the 95% confidence intervals on the gay/bi/lesbian stats are a mile wide (and, other than for bi women, easily overlap with the intervals for the heterosexuals). I'd say this suggests they've got shitty data/small sample sizes, and it's therefore hard to draw conclusion.

(And that's before the additional confound of "self-reported sexuality" i.e. potentially includes women who were traumatised by being raped and now self-describe as lesbians when they're actually het and afraid of men. And the confound of the many gay men and lesbians who had heterosexual relationships before coming out and experienced intimate partner violence in those, rather than in their same-sex relationships. Might be those change nothing, but the report doesn't even mention them so it's hard to tell.)

Statistical spergery above supported by the fact it straight up says in the written bit of the report "no difference in IPV incidence between heterosexual and lesbian woman" and "no difference in IPV incidence between bi, gay, and heterosexual men". Bi women were more at risk of IPV than het/lesbian women, but that's old news.

I'm under no illusion that lesbian relationships are better than hetero ones and don't have their share of problems, but I checked out the survey and nowhere does it mention whether the lesbians or bisexual women serveyed had experienced "rape, physical violence, and/or stalking" from men or from women. It could be extremely likely that many of the women they interviewed indentify as lesbians specifically because of past trauma at the hands of men, ditto with bisexual woman. I would bet absolutely anything a lot of the women answering this surgery were thinking of past MALE intimate partners rather than female ones. Most lesbians are not gold star lesbians and most bisexuals have probably had more opposite- than same-sex experiences simply because of the depth of the dating pool.

Sorry to go off topic. I'm open minded and don't take it as a personal affront if stats show issues specific to same-sex couples but this particular survey really seems to leave off the crucial info about which sex was actually raping/harassing/stalking the women interviewed.
