Yeah, there was a leak about Hidalgo's visual guide getting canned back on Feb 12.
2 days after Gina got canned on the 10th, although I don't think it was made public yet. I initially thought it was because of Hidalgo's premature retirement but they really are going the extra mile to memory hole her. All they need to do is edit her out of the episodes. Would be funny if Disney was so desperate to make this go away that they throw the Mandalorian in its entirety under the bus and focus solely on Book of Boba Fett from here on out and ignore Mando ever existed.
Not much of a loss. 16 eps barely the length of a cartoon with a basic bitch plot.
Petty, but whatever. between Carl Weathers, Bill Burr, and Gina, maybe they'll have enough footage to make a movie left over!
I noticed all the womens posts. I felt bad for one group in particular. The
bad girls. Not the cheesecake or the broken sparrow. The evil bitches.
Up there with the EU's most recognizable villains, Isard was created by Michael Stackpole. She starred as the primary antagonist for both his first four X-wing books and the later Rogue Squadron Comics. Jokingly called Iceheart, the novels do the same thing Zahn did in his 90s material and made a point to never show her perspective until Isard's Revenge.
She would be used by Zahn, who had a fruitful collaboration with Stackpole culminating in the Interlude at Darkknell in '99, where it reveals how she rose to take her father's place as the head of Imperial Intelligence.
Isard is a great villain. She complements Thrawn who was never cruel and lacked political insight.
That's not to say she was inhuman. She had immense attraction to the Emperor and men who were competent and powerful.
Natasi Daala is a great character who got screwed the more people messed with her.
Canonically she was an insanely talented cadet with an attitude/discipline problem who drew Moff Tarkin's notice by remotely hacking into the Imperial network and winning multiple mock battles.
Tarkin, upon discovering that Carida had buried a promising officer with personality issues transferred her to his command and through multiple successful missions she became the first woman to be named to the rank of Admiral.
One of the things I loved about Daala in the Anderson material was his frankness with Daala that others missed. She loved things, without reservation and her gender was never an issue. I loved the scene in Darksaber where she fondly remembers what Tarkin did when word reached him someone had accused her of sleeping her way up.
And I most love how her story ends in Darksaber. That should have been her legacy. Nothing more.
