Depends on the kind of troon. I know there's tons of transmen who legitimately are attracted to other transmen (usually because they like masculine women), but I hardly see transwomen who are attracted to other transwomen outside of dating each other in jailhouse gay "transbian catgirl polycule" situations.

To be fair, I've seen some online gay discourse (including in, but not limited to, the old GenderCritical and LGBDropTheT subreddits no less) where people (mainly lesbians) will wallow in the idea that finding out a romantic interest is straight (or bisexual and enters a straight relationship after yours) is some very, very, special, significant kind of different pain from all the different kinds of rejection and romantic failure straight people experience.

I think there's a difference between being sad that you have no chance with a person you were really into (and since there are more straight than gay or bi people out there, this will happen often if you're gay) VS the whole trancel shit. There are (obviously) some creepy and boundary-pushing gay people out there but I haven't seen a "the straight ceiling" movement successfully take off.

The success of SuperStraight IMO is due to it being both a proper meme and a joke/slang meme.
A proper meme being an idea that spreads, evolves, and sticks. A joke/slang meme being what we think of most memes. Dumb jokes that enter the public conscience as quickly as they leave it.
It's a little bit of both. Although the actual "SuperStraight" identity is fucking stupid and all about taking the piss; the ideas that lead up to it are legitimate and the meme is just a vehicle to spread them.

I'll give you points, this is a decent counter-argument. Some people do have to take hormones or even get surgery. The way I see it is that they're often doing this in moderation and in a way that doesn't permanently change their bodies.
A woman defiant in prolactin will take prolactin hormones to help her produce milk when she needs to. Probably for 2 or 3 years after having a child and in moderation.
A crazy woman with a lactation fetish will scarf down prolactin hormones until she goes infertile and gets liver/kidney damage all while transforming her breasts into swollen abominations.

I think by definition, attraction to troons is a fetish, and there is no such thing as "true attraction" for troons.

Having said that, I genuinely believe a significant number of troons go around looking like absolute shit because they literally cannot distinguish between a heavily made up woman and their own disaster state, and likewise, see other troon disasters as "beautiful".

Like the disturbingly non-zero cases of men being fooled by a stinkditch, troons probably genuinely see no difference between them and actual women, and for them, the attraction probably feels as real as anything else.

On that GenderCritical side, I used to go check out what they were up to, and of their many hypocrisies and sillies, one of my favorites were the weekly, poorly written, personal treaties on "compulsive heterosexuality." Which isn't a crazy idea itself, but all these rants and discussions started to really look like dressed up "turn-straight-girls-gay" fantasies, while they'd complain about all the weasel wording and corkscrew bullshit discussions troons will make that basically encourage challenging lesbian sexuality.
