I think the Far Left really woke up to how damaging memes are to their cause in the years since their loss in the Great Meme War of 2016. Their thought leaders know a good meme when they see it, and now they do everything they can to squelch it before it causes them to the usual overreaction and looking even more crazy than they already are. Just a few years ago, troons wouldn't have been able to kill this subreddit so fast or gotten it censored in other places, they would've seethed for months over it before it finally fizzled out.

It reminds me of how fast they killed "Blue Anon" which some people were using to make fun of the Far Left's tendency to blame everything on QAnon and conspiracy theories. They wouldn't even let that one take off, I think they're deathly afraid of memes. After all, their memes are just walls of text, ripoffs of other memes, blatantly unfunny, or all of the above.
