It just disgusts me to see that Disney doesn't even bother to care trying to tell apart different Asian cultures. They just threw them all in a blender so that it can appeal to all Asians. It's not that hard to narrow things down. I mean, at least Avatar the Last Airbender did it, with the Fire Nation being based on Imperial Japan, and the Earth Kingdom being based on Ancient China, and the two of them utterly HATING each other in the Airbender cartoon. (Season 2 was all about how the Fire Nation plotted to take over the Earth Kingdom)
And of course, Asians do Asian stuff better than white leftists can. I mean, you look at Asian mythology movies and TV shows made in Asia, and they get things right more than the Hollywood drek does. They also have an easier time appealing to the average Asian due to them knowing what their people like: strong men, pretty women, family values, among other things.
This kinda applies not just towards Disney. The live adaptation of
The Last Airbender having Indians in the Fire Nation pissed leftists and fans off.
The Karate Kid had Jaden Smith learning kung-fu, despite being called "The Karate Kid".
Mulan tried to cater to wushu fans in China while maintaining that Western "feminist" mentality and it ended up pleasing no one.
Even with a film like
Memoirs of a Geisha, casting Chinese actresses for Japanese roles pissed off both the Japanese and the Chinese especially to the point where the film was banned in China. I could give it a pass, though, because it clearly wasn't made for Eastern audiences and they were cast for their talent. I can't be so sure about the treatments of Zhang Ziyi, Gong Li and Michelle Yeoh and their reputations in China, though.
If I was outlining a science fiction series that involves the Chinese population, at some point I would ask a person knowledgeable in Chinese culture, politics and history as an advisor, or at the very least, do my own research instead of whatever the examples above did. And considering the subject matter, it would probably, naturally, end up being a person of Chinese descent. The same could go for probably any other culture.
Disney made Black Panther which did this with Africa. The old, large area of diverse cultures treated as a mono-culture. I feel they got a pass because it was aimed at African Americans who from what I gather are disconnected from their heritage. I wish I saved it, but I was planning a trip to Africa around the time one of the trailers came out and I stumbled upon an African forum. They were tearing the trailer apart, for all the mixed cultures and the horrendous fake African pretend accent.
You can even get this from how the actors prepared for their roles too.
To further differentiate the Jabari, Duke spoke a version of the Nigerian
Igbo language rather than the
Xhosa language spoken by other Wakandans.

You take inspiration from different cultures that already exist to create a fictional ethnostate, and then claim it's a place that has never been invaded throughout its history until recently. Personally, it doesn't bother me since Wakanda is fictional, but I can see why Africans have an issue with it.
Small quibble. China tolerates homosexuals, but what they refuse to accept is faggots.
That is, China (or at least urban china) has a huge culture of getting side action, its just understood that's what going on, and its only a problem if you get caught. So if some of that side action is the same sex, its not an issue as long as it never gets out. So even if you are homosexual, you are expected to not be a mincing queer or bulldyke. You're expected to marry a spouse and have kids. If you go down to the bath house to grab your ankles for a train of niggers Vietnamese, no one cares as long as no one can clock you as a faggot.
