Idk if she’s done heroin daily for weeks, months or years she’s definitely an addict. It’s extremely physically addictive. People who like benzos usually love heroin and mixing the two is very popular.

She probably wanted her old Xanax script back so if she went to the methadone clinic her drug tests showing benzos would be ok. Most heroin addicts seem okay with going on methadone as long as they can abuse benzos with it - just like they did with dope.

I don’t get why some people in this thread think Luna is some poser heroin addict. It’s like they think she’s not cool enough to be a fucking nasty junkie so it’s got to be fake? Her living arrangements, hygiene, gross sex videos and boyfriend choice of the recent years are textbook junkie stuff.

It's fairly obvious she's a true and honest junkie simply in her physical decline over the years. Her yellowed and rotting teeth, her dry hair, her glassy eyes and pinpoint pupils, her cock-eyed and distant look. That's not even mentioning her lack of care in personal hygiene as she routinely paints foundation OVER her piercings, doesn't wash it off at night.

I've never seen a makeupless picture of her that hasn't been filtered to hell and that's probably on purpose. I can imagine the opioids did a number on her complexion alone.

If dad is suffering and immediate family calls, I would think someone would give you some kind of info. Therefore I'm assuming this can be translated as: "I called the hospital sounding like an insane garbled whiny junkie and they weren't having any of my bullshit."

Luna wasted the time she could have spent with her dad and any opportunity to clean up crashing at his place. Junk is a waste of time and life. The world kept going by while you were high, and now your dad is in the hospital, idiot.

It wouldn't surprise me if her dad is on drugs too, but doesn't it seem a bit too on-the-nose that RIGHT when Luna is "getting sober" (on benzos) her dad is also having some big medical crisis and totally might die but also needs physical therapy (and is on benzos?)

I mean he was an addict before (I'm assuming heroin). Plenty of things from living that lifestyle could result in strokes, or early onset dementia.

High doses of benzodiazepines can cause amnesia and dissociation. Long-term use can cause all sorts of cognitive problems as well. On top of this, benzodiazepine withdrawal can cause seizures which then can lead to even more permanent brain damage. Usually the other dangers from benzodiazepine overdose are that it causes hypotension and low breathing rate, similar to other depressant drugs. Your brain just stops sending the signal for your lungs to breathe. And hypoxia also causes brain damage in the people who survive.

He doesn't own it outright; it is part of a co-op. She will not be approved to so much as step foot inside by the co-op board, and couldn't even pay a month of the fees. Also, taxes are due very shortly and she wouldn't pay her share of property tax, just how she lost her last house.

Anyway, it sounds way less like Dad was on a benzo bender, and way more like he was trying to get off them without help and had a serious seizure. He's either compo mentis enough to tell the hospital staff not to put his daughter through, or badly off enough that they are relying on his advance directive which probably states in giant red letters "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS MY DAUGHTER PERMITTED TO CONTROL MY MEDICAL DECISIONS, OR TO CONTACT ME IF I BECOME INCAPACITATED".

It definitely sounds like a stroke or something. Also Long term usage of benzos can fuck with your memory even if you never take them again. A medicine that literally alters your brain chemistry is kind of terrifying.

If the hospital staff won't give her information on the phone she is probably not listed as an emergency contact and so it is illegal to give out health information to someone not listed as the primary contacts.

When she said her dad was found wandering the streets at night not knowing what year it was or where he lived I thought it was true because it sounded like sundowning. People with dementia sometimes sundown, they might be fine during the day but start becoming confused and agitated in the afternoon or night. This is how you hear on the news sometimes that an elderly person escaped a nursing home during the night, because they were sundowning.

Based on the new info it does sound like a stroke. I wonder if it was even possible he had a older mini stroke before and did not know, which lead to dementia symptoms, and had a new stroke now leading to this hospitalization. The past history of drug use doesn't help either.

I feel like Luna wouldn't lie about this because she doesn't understand medical stuff and she would say the same things about Roger having some sort of health crisis or heart problems (he had heart failure) although she would play up how bad he is or needing donations.

I'm inclined to just believe he doesn't want to speak to Luna. It's obvious he still cares for her as a daughter if he's willing to help her out occasionally but if he is hospitalized due to complications with benzos/opioid abuse, I think it's safe to say that he isn't having any contact with her for a reason.

For all we know, she could have been paranoid about the feds following her beloved Lurch, and her dad could have said "I don't think the FBI is after you", and she left out the context to make him sound insane. Despite having pulled an identical squatting scam where ended up tossed out into the streets and losing "omg 90% of my belongings, pls send $", she is doing the same thing again and somehow believing the exact same thing isn't going to happen.

So she busys herself whining at Matthew to drag more trash into the house, thinking that this time no one will kick them out and that the electricity will magically stay on forever and not be shut off next month because eveey type of protection ends: both for covid, and because it is warm enough that the pipes won't freeze any longer.
