Anna o' Brien / Glitter + Lazers / GlitterandLazers - Fat, drunk, consoomer attention whore who would rather eat and drink herself to death than endure a single negative emotion

Min and Mon makes great, high quality bags. Granted they do cater to the "omg so qwirkeee and coulorfullll!!!!" demographic of big-city young professionals with money to burn but some of their more toned-down stuff is nice.
Not for nothing I appreciate Anna simping for a somewhat indie designer as opposed to something like Michael Kors or whatever. Seems kind of out of character , I wonder if they're paying her?

So I don't know this shelter personally, but the rescue shelters I've have gone to when i got my cats were never : "Just give us money and computers and pet and human meds!"

"URGENT NEEDS

Please note that monetary gifts are the preferred donation as it allows for APA! to allocate immediate resources to where we need them most, as well as provides critical operating dollars for our clinic and care staff. You can make an online gift here.

ITEMS WE ARE ABLE TO USE:
We are always in need of computers to ensure we have updated technology to make our jobs as efficient as possible! Have a computer that runs Windows 10 with at least 6 GB RAM? We can use it! We also accept pet and human medications! Contact donate@austinpetsalive.org if you're able to help us help pets.

Items we are not able to use:
We are not able to use open bags or containers of food (unless it is prescription food), homemade treats, plastic food or water bowls, plastic litter boxes or scoops, litter pan liners, cat scratch posts, carpeted cat trees, newspapers, couch or patio cushions, or bed linens (including pillows, comforters, and large/heavy blankets). Please consider sharing these items with individuals or organizations that can fully utilize these donations."

The reviews for the place seem to support it as a place no one would send money to...but she got a new shiny $240 bag in all this so i'm sure thats all she saw.
APA! actually does a lot of really good work for rescue and feral cats, specifically. I cannot speak to the dog program, though, and it may be different.

Animal shelters and rescues, like charity thrift shops and homeless shelters, often have to be very explicit about what not to donate, lest people use them as a free disposal service for stuff that should go to the landfill. Anyone who has worked at a thrift store can likely tell stories about all of the literal garbage people "donate" in order to avoid the hassle and expense of bringing it to the landfill. Broken electronics, clothing fit only for the rag pile, old appliances, stuff like that. The donors will claim that they're doing it as a charitable thing, but it's pretty obvious what their actual motive is, and the behavior is certainly suggestive of an underlying belief that beggars shouldn't be choosers so it's fine to "donate" trash. For many charity shops, disposal of items not fit to resell is actually a huge expense which eats into their profit. Most charities are already operating on a razor thin margin.

Pet shelters and rescues are no different, and this particular list seems like they've had issues in the past with people donating used or worthless items, which someone at the shelter has to sort through and dispose, taking away from the time available to spend actually helping critters. With things like open food packages, plastic litter boxes, and carpeted cat trees, there's also a sanitation concern, especially because a lot of the animals who come through the rescue are already ill or injured. Open food packages, specifically, is also an issue because there are whackadoos out there who do shit like adulterate pet food just because they can.

Money or gift cards to places like PetSmart or Chewy are the preferred form of donation for most rescues. What do you think is wrong with their donation request, exactly? What should people donate?

I'd always been told by the places near me that it was better to donate tangible items then monetary since it filled the need with out a middleman, but I'm really glad to hear all this info on how it all works! And I'm glad I'm wrong about them reviews for them were not the good so I had used that with what I knew from local places.

Back to Anna topic:
It was deleted in about 15 mins before I could archive it but she got really drunk and did a video of her "jumping" for some odd reason.

Gah! I was coming here to see if someone had recorded the video of her jumping in the hideous red shorts. I really don’t understand how she can jump at all.

Those fat bags under her knees are the best part of the video. I've never seen that on a deathfat before.

Watch them jiggle when she hits the ground: under her knee caps, towards the inside of her calf, going about halfway down her shin. She's really tall, so those under-knee fat bags are probably 7 inches long? Maybe 8?

And may God bless and protect those red shorts. :semperfidelis:

Those bags are almost certainly pockets of leaking joint fluid because her knees are too compressed/damaged to cope. I wouldn't be surprised if she's walking around with a torn meniscus or two and doesn't even realize it. Probably damaged from doing stupid shit like this at her size all the time for clicks and bellyrubs

Anna’s Instagram stories today are this big lead up to how she’s being so forthright and making sure that she pushes herself to help out causes in Austin after the storm...only to tell us about the stupid bag again. Like how many times is she going to brag about the same good deed.
Also she’s done some soul searching that she will tell us about in a few days...
Waiting on bated breath...
🙄
Edit to add: I think she’s taking make up tips from Tess cause she is looking shiny

I just realized that because of the way she looped the video we don't actually get to see her land, it just plays backwards once she is in the air. Clever Anna, you almost had me believing that you stuck the landing– almost. I can only guess how ungraceful that fall was, and how much her legs probably undulated upon her feet smacking the pavement. Must have been a horrifying sight.
