I won't deny that Jim used to be really good at his job, but here we are talking about Jim being a lolcow now. And why people are incensed to mock him now is because he's not being a journo, he's being a grifter by trooning out and putting as little effort into things all the while dumping pill after pill after pill into his body and not producing any results. If you're taking adderal, it's usually to improve your productivity, but Jim's clearly using it for a high. Maybe a bit late but perhaps the reason why the word "chungus" sounds familiar is because it sounds like the Spanish word "Chungos" which is the plural of "Chungo" a colloquialism used to describe something that looks bad, it has gone bad (as in spoiled or rotten) or something that is of poor quality.
Funnily enough, even in Spanish, it still describes Jim "El Chungo" Sterling perfectly.
