Welp looks like M-rated games are going to be thrown out the door onto their ass in general.
Twitch's brand protection code will penalize channels that play M-Rated games and won't penalize E-Rated games in an attempt to essentially bankrupt any budding edgelords out there.
It also ensures that nothing M-Rated will ever get free advertising on twitch which will kill any desire to appeal to that M-Rated market. Streamers won't pick up any M-Rated content because it will hurt their channel just that much with this digital credit score system.
I'd say fuck jannies but it looks like they're actually going to be paying people to do this in conjunction with an automated system, which in itself is even more shocking.
But yeah it looks like that if a system or platform gets too popular with an inappropriate game or a game that is eventually deemed inappropriate, that will even harm the actual console brand or digital platform itself.
