On the bright side it looks like the cringy /tv/ leaks about the villain team being made up of Leto Joker, Mask, nu-Pennywise and the Wicked Witch were fake.

It looks like the real villains are just another MonStars-esque team made up of a bunch of irl basketball players turned into monsters. One's some big crab man, another a fish dude, a bird dude and a hook nosed snake lady(?).
I'm probably going senile in my own age, but the aesthetic of this film isn't too bad. It's somewhat nice to look at and the CGI is pretty good.

90% certain the images of this court we've been seeing is from the climax. Of course it has to look good, everything else that's not a key turning point can look like shit far as execs are concerned.

Besides Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the only other title I know of that used forgotten IPs in a meaningful way and brought awareness back to these older characters was Epic Mickey. No one who wasn't already studying/in the know of animation history knew who Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was, but Disney, in a rare heartwarming move, wanted to bring back their founder's creation from being lost to time. They bought (back) the rights, and then a few years later a video game was built on the concept of forgotten toons jealous of Mickey's fame. It was fucking brilliant, and Oswald gained new life, even if it may have been temporary.

But that was probably helped because Bob Iger hadn't yet grown mad with power, or he never cared about what went on at Disney Interactive.

These corporate suits calling the shots for these cinematic universes just don't get it. All they saw was the success of Marvel and wanted to jump in without a plan, and without studying why it was so successful. Even though bringing back older IPs is a neat Easter egg for animation geeks, they feel so much more gimmicky here than they have ever been in days of old. And to use them as a springboard in a futile attempt to set up a cinematic universe is just sad and disrespectful to Hanna and Barbera's vision. But because they're dead, who cares amirite.
One of the main reason Epic Mickey was as good as it was story-wise is because Warren Spector directed it and was given access to the Disney Vault to do so.

Warner Brothers have no idea what to do with making a franchise. They have been dooming their IPs and making them rush to make something big happen with no build up or interest from audiences. One of the big problems in my option is it never feels earned and won't let any of their IPs build up organically. They see the success of Marvel but don't want to put in the time and effort to have that buildup to events people will pay for. The corporate suits want money in the short term instead of building up something big in the long term. If you want to make something like Marvel did, you need build interest with the audience, put in time and effort, and an interesting/fun story line to follow in order to get there. You also need a producer (i.e .Kevin Feige) to manage it all to be cohesive. The first 5 movies that Marvel did give them decent returns but it wasn't until they built it up slow to make the Avengers that they started to make crazy returns on the investment of them. Something that Warner Brothers suits would never take a chance on.

Epic Mickey is kinda mid, but I appreciate what Warren was trying to create. Like many, I was probably just burned by the really intense concept art that naturally nothing on the Wii could ever possibly live up to.

Soooo is there a reason Bugs looks like he's really concerned or worried about what's going on? Isn't one of his biggest traits is that due to overconfidence and spry nature he's not one to surrender unless he gets one-upped or by his own downfall? Not really feeling Bugs is being Bugs from the promotional images we've been seeing outside of the one poster that still looks really wrong any way you slice it.
Well, if I had to guess, they’ll give that aspect of his personality to Lola and make him insecure or something.

I also expect that they'll cutout their romantic relationship despite other Looney Tunes shit these past several years still portraying them together, either because Lola being a love interest for Bugs is sexist or because of some of the "BugsxElmer are LGBTQIABBQ icons" nonsense, but its probably not the latter since Bugs crossdressing is probably considered transphobic these days. Which is where I think the Amazon shtick also plays in for why she doesn't love Bugs anymore.

I think you're overthinking it. It's Space Jam, not proper Looney Tunes. If this was proper Looney Tunes we'd see beaks getting blown off (and getting fixed back on), clothes/fur/feather being burned off via sticks of TNT (or cannons or guns), characters getting squished by rocks, smacked upside the head with mallets, or getting kissed to piss them off further, and Bugs in drag at least once to confuse and piss someone off in one move. And in less than 10 minutes the bad guys would whimper back to whatever hole they crawled out of.

But this is Space Jam, so we gotta waste time to get to a basketball court and not have too many wild antics on the court because basketball. And also have the game be close and last a full four periods (minimum) to try to make people give a shit about the victory.

New Loony Tunes doesn’t allow guns anymore, actually. Fudd uses a scythe now.

I wish I was kidding.

Don’t forget Chuck Jones wasn’t a fan of the first and criticized it

"I can tell you, with the utmost confidence," Porky Pig would never say 'I think I wet myself.'" Jones also added that, had the film been more true to the source material, Bugs Bunny would not have enlisted the help of Jordan or the other Looney Tunes characters to defeat the Monstars "and moreover, it wouldn't have taken him an hour and a half. Those aliens, whether they were tiny or colossal, would've been dealt with in short order come the seven minute mark."
A scythe feels MORE violent for some reason.

May they never reboot this particular show

It's fine to violently slash and lacerate a rabbit to death. Shoot it and instantly kill it? Nah none of that.
Further evidence that all this "woke" shit is at best rather retarded. I've given up on pretty much all "modern" media and yearn for the 90s again. Nostalgia fans have a point.

What hunter would use a scythe anyway? Like, that has never happened. At least give him a crossbow or something.

I'm excited for this movie in spite of Lebron. I love the original, the CGI does look good, and no Lola recharacterization could ever be worse than the one from The Looney Tunes Show. I'm ready.

Maybe now is the opportunity to put Bugs together with Millicent?
