Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Probably related to this insanity?

EDIT: Ninja'd by the Admiral.

They're fucking calling RLM alt-right? That reeks of desperation.

But really, the whole thing reeks - accusing people of being one of the most universally hated and poisonous things just because they don't like your fucking corporate committee-written popcorn movie.

If they're going to call out RLM...then why bother worrying? Honestly. I'm generally not one for the "point and laugh" approach when it comes to dealing with "criticism", but if there was ever a time for it, it would be for occasions like this.

No. Read the article. They just labeled everyone who talked shit about Disney as toxic culture influencers or alt-right fans. They're all toxic in their eyes but they posted a graph of the toxic elements on youtube and separated them into three categories, "alt-right", "gaming" and "other". Robot Head, RLM and WiseCrack fall under "Other" in the toxic negatives as they are not considered gaming channels or politically noteworthy. Vito fell under Gaming and Film Gob for some reason fell under Alt-right.

For comparison, they posted another shitty bubble graph showing that the "positives" only consisted of "Others" and "Gaming" and no alt-right. Thus automatically having nothing but good things to say about Disney means you're not an imaginary bigot or associate with them by having negative things to say about a fucking movie.

Its a stupid system regardless that's just looking for whatever reason to show how toxic criticism is and that Disney is infallible.

It's better for everyone who disagree become "Alt right" as it makes the "Alt right" the most inclusive tent of sanity and reason. SJWs want regular people to think sanity is insanity, but assuming one has faith, regular people can't hold on to that cognitive dissonance when they can see SJWs engulfing them and declaring them "alt right." Ben Shapiro, the anti-semite is a hard no for regular people. "Gina Carrano's 'alt right' now? I like her!" "I just didn't like this show. How am I alt right?" and so on. Making normies "Alt Right" is painful and frankly, normies need to get some pain to wake up.

EDIT: Also on the pitfall of "No I'm not a racist/sexist." It's really a Kafka trap meant to fuck the normie into thinking the term that the SJW is using is inherently bad and get people to work against their own interests. We see this with every Biden voter as they did exactly this. The problem for the normie is that the answer doesn't matter; the accusation makes them guilty. The good news is that they accuse everyone of it and even Lefties that happen to not be fully on board get it too and that starts their redpilling. So, my advice is to shrug and say, "whatever." It shows you don't care about their accusation. You'll still get the consequences, but in doing so, you lose that group and gain another group of similarly disaffected people. Even though the "alt right" is censored as fuck, they're still the ones that people are interested with. That's why MSM, despite being "the winner," has layoffs.

hmmmmmmmm.... methinks this is an astroturf. This releasing so close to the disney shareholder debacle cant be a coincidence
The Mary Sue published an article about that, labelling the questions that were asked "gross" in the headline.

Today's Disney shareholder call gave us a lot of inside information about the company that dominates a large portion of pop culture—mainly that Black Widow is still set for a May release and that they have plans to reopen Disneyland in a few months. But what was interesting for me was when they started to talk about Star Wars and their Disney+ content.

Disney+ has hit a milestone with over 100 million subscribers, which comes on the heels of #CancelDisney+ trending from outraged right-wing figures over the firing of Gina Carano. That milestone is important to note because clearly, their boycott attempts aren’t working. But it did open the door to the shareholders asking some … interesting questions that mirror that of the very loud and rude male fanbase surrounding the Star Wars franchise.

Since the dawning of Star Wars studio Lucasfilm being acquired by Disney, the sexism towards those in charge and the stories they were telling in the Star Wars universe has been ramped up to eleven by gross members of the Star Wars fanbase. Sure, prior to Lucasfilm being sold, there were sexist men who were convinced women couldn’t like the franchise. I know, I dealt with them all the time as a fan. But it wasn’t like this.

Now, every move that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy makes is attacked by men online. They want her fired for simply touching Star Wars. Prior to Gina Carano revealing herself to be a Trump parrot, men hated the idea of Cara Dune because she was a strong woman. Their tune has obviously changed now that Carano has been let go from Disney for harmful social media posts that these awful men agree with, but that initial hatred of her involvement in the franchise is not forgotten.

So when the shareholders began asking questions, it was jarring to hear this sexist rhetoric and nonsense questioning that often exists online being parroted at Disney CEO Bob Chapek on a call.

Chapek went on to say that Disney stands for “values,” ones that are universal and values of respect, and I think that’s a beautiful way to answer questions like these and shut down these “trolls” who want to act like they didn’t hate the idea of Cara Dune when The Mandalorian was announced anyway.

The questions didn’t stop there, sadly. Another man decided to ask about Kathleen Kennedy.

What’s concerning to me is that this sounds like the angry fanboy rhetoric that I see spread online. These fans seem to think that they know more than the creatives behind the franchise, and it’s frustrating to see reflected in an investors’ call. Chapek did an incredible job responding to them, simply shutting down the Carano/Pascal response and praising Kathleen Kennedy, but the fact that these questions were even asked is shocking.

Hopefully, in the future, they keep these sort of fan-based ridiculous anger questions out of the calls, but still. You can listen to all the information here, and I can’t wait to see what Disney has in store for us!

Most people who thought Gina was bad at first felt she was a "Mary Sue" for fighting Mando to a draw in her first episode. I vividly remember people turning around on her when she returned later in the season.

As flimsy as The Mandalorian's plot is, I never had a problem justifying a draw between both characters. Cara Dune was a Rebellion veteran who fought on Endor, The Mandalorian was raised as a warrior for most of his life. At least they tried to justify her skills as a fighter (unlike Rey).

Not that it matters now I guess.

Oh there was definitely plenty of that lol

They could recast her if they really wanted to. It's finding a woman who was as big as Gina without being properly fat that's the issue.

Disney became their equivalent of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Almost everything they do is infallible to these clowns. Even people who are barely even associated with the alt-right (Ben Shapiro hardly qualifies as one of them white nationalist types) counts as alt-right to them. Any criticism of the woke corporate agenda is seen as evil, and they have to circle the wagons to protect their beloved corporations. Even though these corporations are about as racist as a white slave owner who literally mistakes the Vietnamese for the Chinese and had no problems working with people who are racist towards ethnic minorities like the Uighurs. Disgusting.

Who would've guessed that "Don't ask questions, just consume product, then get excited for next product" would go from being a meme to an IRL political litmus test?
Because these clowns are so addicted to corporate CONSOOMER culture, they have to attack those who criticize it as alt-right yahtzees.

The fact that Chapek got away by saying that Disney stands for values when they work with people who have Uighurs being thrown into concentration camps is, well, I don't know if that's funny or sad. I hope to God that one day, when the CCP finally falls, we get to throw their collaborators into the can the same way the world did to the Nazi collaborators at Nuremberg. The fact that these people are still allowed to show their faces in public goes to show how far we've fallen as a society.

That last line about the Mary Sue author saying that she can't wait to see what Disney has in store goes to show that they've betrayed any objective values they pretend to stand for. They're just corporate shills now, nothing more.

And of course, it is hilarious to see the Mary Sue defend the corporate oligarchs from shareholders trying to hold them responsible for their actions. It's like they hate having responsibilities and being made to pay for their stupid actions. Moral responsibility? Financial responsibility? What's that? It's "gross" to actually try and hold the company responsible for its failures and losing money because it puts the interests of the alphabet people over the investors and fans. I do hope that this has persuaded people that buying Disney stock is pointless. You'll just be told to sit down and ignore all the problems while they piss away all your money trying to appease a demographic that barely exists.

Let this company sink the way it should have done, the moment they started moving away from Walt Disney's values.

On the other hand, has anyone here ever read "Disney: The Mouse Betrayed : Greed, Corruption, and Children at Risk"? It's a good read detailing the slow fall and decline of the Disney Empire. It was already rotten to the core when they bought Star Wars, and more people would have foreseen their bad treatment of Star Wars if they heeded this book's warnings.

I need help identifying the people who run that Rewriting Ripley podcast
No idea who they are honestly. I never read their crap until their article started trending.

Also Mandalorian Funko Pops canned the Cara Dune toy.
I find it somewhat amusing that the article quoted Chapek's shitty attempt to dodge the question of whether or not a Disney blacklist exists. Also the guy who played Snoke is trying to keep the character relevant by claiming that Snoke "totally had an origin story planned out guys #trusttheJJplan"

Wait, Snoke actually had an actor? I thought it was just a green painted wood plank they projected CG over.
I think they mean his voice actor or whatever. I can't really give enough fucks about that shitty Emperor clone/knockoff.
Also...

1: Ahsoka and Obi-Wan will be featured as characters in that shitty Calrissian Andor/Rogue One-spinoff show because forcing Ahsoka into everything and trying to establish a forced cinematic streaming universe is all these people can think of.

2: The design for Boba's lady servant 'Fennec' in the Bad Batch was leaked and she looks pretty shitty tbh.

Reminds me of the Nostalgia Chick but blockier. And they have her wearing the exact same outfit and hair despite the show taking place almost 30 years before the Mandalorian. Peak creativity there, Filoni frens. :stress:
Guess they though audiences would be too dumb to be able to recognize her or didn't think the character was memorable enough.

Seriously I love Ashoka as character I really do. I mean I grew up with her and all. But Jesus Filoni can a you make a story without Ashoka in it for once!!!!!.
