A bit off-topic, but that reminds me, a few years ago I read an interview about a woman in a third-world country who was suffering from BIID.BIID for anyone who doesn't know is a mental illness where people think they should be disabled and will go so far as to physically cut off limbs, can sometimes end up killing themselves in the process of trying to dismember themselves etc.
Long story short, she wanted to get rid of her legs since age four, she kept harming her legs in various ways like razors, knifes etc. She eventually went to a therapist when she was older to cure her BIID. It didn't work for some reason and one day she laid on train tracks and train crushed her legs beyond repair. Doctors had to cut her legs off. When people asked her if she was feeling guilty about it, she answered "No. I'm happy that my legs are finally gone."
At the end of the interview she talked about how people saw being gay as an mental illness 100 years ago and being trans as an mental illness 50 years ago (because apparently, liking the same-sex is same with wanting to cut your genitalia/limbs off), and that she was hoping one day BIID will get accepted as an identity too.
Gosh, it's always have to be about them isn't it?View attachment 1993564
Imagine being like this. Or don't. Keep your sanity.
