General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

But she uses twitch to live stream right?
Her youtube channel is just infrequent clips of her streams, not even her VODs. That's what I'm saying, if she's growing like a "below average JP" on a secondary channel, that indicates that her primary content is lkely doing even better, we just lack the same metrics for twitch. Maybe those exist, does anyone know a socialblade equivalent for Twitch?
Right. I forgot about that lol. According to social blade, she's at 370k followers which is equivalent to YouTube subs. I can't imagine that all of those are actually subbed to her twitch which is the equivalent to YouTube memberships. Again, social blade, so don't expect those numbers to be 100%. YouTube is also way more populated than twitch without question. So her being on twitch is probably actually hurting her.

So ~1.5 million subs across both platforms, which is more than pekora. Only gura is doing more than that in the holo girls. Looks like white women win again.

Speaking of (mostly) white women, Pika's stream was 1 hour, and she's moved on to superchat reading... 2 hours and still going

More like 800k if she started at 600k before vtubing. 500k gain on youtube and 300k on twitch. That's without including overlap between youtube subs and twitch followers
In the words of a great man, "cope"

I would be curious to see how much nyanner's numbers would change if she shifted over to YouTube. I think she's "safer" on twitch in terms of not getting banned or shadowbanned for toilet humor or suggestive thumbnails, but it is a smaller audience.

However, as we know the raw sub numbers are not always indicative of revenue, it may be that her donations/bits from Twitch get her more money than the same or even a greater number of subscribers on youtube.

EDIT: I just saw socialblade has a twitch option. I don't know how to interpret the number for Twitch very well, but socialblade gives her an "A-", so it seems good.

I feel like people here are angry at nyanners for calling out pedophilia in the anime community, and that colors their perception of her success. She's almost certainly earning more money than the JP girls by virtue of not giving income to an agency + japanese taxes.
I dont know how accurate this is but she is doing well i guess but i dont think its as big as the biggest talent of hololive

Miko twitch channel

She only uses this for watchalong which never really attract that much viewers

Not that long time lurker here and I haven't read every letter of this thread, certain dramas were skimmed, even skipped. First time registration too, so total noob.
Reddit is stifling and i don't have karma for shit. 4chan is just too damn ironic, shame for the genuinely great questions. Discord is just so not my speed, depth is non-existent though. Resetera is not worth it to have that fancy e-mail adress, negapass won't last forever or any user.

This is almost optimum.
Little tip regarding karma; easiest way to get some is to find trans-positive stuff on other subreddits and repost them onto traa. Easiest thousands of karma I ever made.

Anyways, is there any reliable way to track the revenue a streamer gets from Twitch or from Youtube member/superchats?

For youtube superchats, you can use playboard. Idk how to get the other stats

Im still amazed how that god-awful website managed to get so popular with such a shitty UI. Maybe im just a boomer.

Nyanners is pretty big for an indie and I don't think Holo usually gets people who are super popular. Wasnt Coco pretty big pre-Holo? I don't know much about the other JP girls from NicoNico metrics but other than that Gura was probably the most popular.

On a more serious note, Fubuki may be the brains of JP hololive but I feel like Marine's the heart. It's like she recognizes how socially ackward rd a lot of her coworkers are and does her best to pry them out of their shells. She also has gone out of her way a lot of times to help people out, like when she saved Polka's callin stream.
Marine has, without a doubt, usurped Friend as "the face" of Hololive, at least for overseas fans. She's been killing it lately, and is their most valuable asset at the moment.

That's kinda cute but yeah the fact that some twat was cutting himself over this is more of a reason as to why they don't want the girl's identities to be public.

I thought the girls would stop doing their previous work and cut all ties to their old accounts once they signed in with Hololive but I have noticed that some of them have kept their alt accounts around and still produce content on those accounts even if its not as much as they used to. I thought that when it came to streaming, the girls would be denied the chance to stream unless it was with their avatars as this could be seen as direct competition.

I am really interested in how the whole business side works and I would love to see one of the contracts. I'm guessing each contract is altered to fit each girl since some of them do it part time, and others do it full time.
I do believe the contracts are different for each of the talents. I also know that the "older" members' contracts are structured much differently than more current members.

As for them keeping or deleting their past lives/other selves, it's 100% up to them. Cover does not make the decision for them, they just make it clear that the two personalities/world must never intertwine nor mention each other, that's all.

AZKi's accent isnt half bad.
AZKi fucking cracked me up with that English stream last night, because I remember her saying how god-awful her English was when she played Minecraft with Sora that time a bit ago. But it turns out her English is the best out of any of the JP girls other than Coco and Haato. Fucking amazing, AZKi is insanely cool. Shame on anyone who isn't following her more closely.

I think western vtubers are quicker to pick up on new tech. Japanese people in general are slow to embrace new technology, and prefer trying to polish something old to learning something new. Western vtubers will pick up a new tech even if it doesn't work right sometimes, or has some glitches. That's why we see sex-pests like snuffy with 1/10th the following of a holo girl but much better face tracking.
Uhhhh....yeah, I definitely agree with the first assessment. Tried to use a JP website lately? Niconico is still an unusable dumpster fire, and JP hobby sites and online merch stores are like old, early-2000's Geocities run by conspiracy-theory schizophrenics. Hire some fucking white people to recode that shit, for the love of god.

/vt/ is a melting pot of trolling, rrats competing for attention and shitflinging, pretty much /b/ from 15 or so years ago. Spending too much time there will most likely get to you sooner or later.
It absolutely will. Some friends I talk to, who are totally level-headed on a normal day, will overload themselves on 4chan exposure sometimes and quite literally devolve into stark-raving, rrat-obsessed madmen until I talk them down with logic. It's legitimately scary what that place does to someone.

It might be an "uwu I'm sad chat, please shower me in praise", ala Hana Macchia, or not. Who is to say.
It's not. Aqua does not do that.

Anyways, is there any reliable way to track the revenue a streamer gets from Twitch or from Youtube member/superchats?
For me, I like Playboard. It's pretty reliable and up-to-the-minute. I think it only tracks YT though, not Twitch.

Lmao this spygori just can't help digging herself deeper :story:

For partial deafness, she still managed to make bgms in Minecraft.

I never really saw Fubuki as "the face". Sure she had the the highest subscriber count (back in July when I got into the hole). To me it seemed like Miko and Korone were the face. I do think that Marine is really high on that list when it comes to overseas viewers and if her english lessons work out, she will take the top spot.

Looks like carrot cake.

I was wondering if any of the girls pandered this hard to West Taiwan
I vaguely remember bugmen mentioning something about Haachama studying basic Chinese or using some Chinese greetings on stream and that "she likes us, unlike Coco", in relation to the Taiwan "incident" of course. I don't have any proof of this though and I'm not willing to delve into wolflet warriors' delusions.

The idea of getting $1 for every West Taiwanese to makes profit is dumb consider how tight pocket they are and how “rich” they actually are.

I can't imagine what kind of kicks does that Tengoku TL get when he gets to review Subaru's reactions on overseas audiences' comments on his clips. Esp with how often that happens.

Also, despite hating the gyaru style to bits, I would totally want Coco and Polka to have one. One americanized gyaru, and trad JP one. It just.. fits.

For westeners FBK is going into the legacy bin. The top is so draning, that someone needs remain in the background for a while to regain strenghth. Marine's role is increasingly becoming more executive, although she is still around high tier ambassador.

More than one holo girl has mentioned hearing problems, but I feel like it is not getting through the translation very well. Kanata said she had menierre's disease? I actually doubt that, because that's one of those "fibro" tier diseases. My suspicion is she has stress-induced tinnitus that some doctor labeled as menierre's because it only appeared in one of her ears as opposed to both (unusual because a sound loud enough to damage hearing usually is going to damage both ears at the same time). You can also get hearing loss from stress or taking too much of certain NSAIDs, but it doesn't manifest in the same way noise induced does.

Its permanent, but the good news is it shouldn't get worse, she'll probably learn to tune out the sound of the ringing at somme point.

She was the face because most overseas viewer are exposed to Hololive through her scatman vid, which went viral about a year ago iirc? She's a great introduction mind you, but now as more and more hololive member reach 1 mil subs and HoloEN existing, Fubuki is relegated to simply being one of the more successful member.
