She has been honest from the start about the fact that this is not 100% personalized program. It is 2.28 Lev to 1 British Pound, So Chikara is doing this 8 week program called Phoenix Rising (much creative). The issue with this is she is not a dietician, a coach or nutritionist. So she is essentially running a scheme with no experience other than her own which as most of you are aware can land you in some really nasty hot water. As if someone is injured, is not happy or essentially is just incredibly disgruntled could investigate you.
The oddest thing is the cost and the conversions, so she is charging £50 for applications (saying there are limited spots to drive interest, which is pretty disingenuous). The UK is not her country of residence anymore though she is permanently in Bulgaria and started it when living in Bulgaria. Then offering $ prizes to the top 3 losers (as in weight). That from an accounting angle is bizarre and I get cashing in but it looks pretty fraudulent because she is taking it via PayPal gifting and not services. Meaning as a customer; you are not insured, you gifted the money meaning you are losing that right.
You should watch her video on the actual program because you made some assumptions that might not be correct (edited* because I didn't phrase it fairly). The only strange point I agree with is the Paypal gift vs services, but everything else has a reasonable explanation.
She is running what mostly seems like a "transformation" competition, not necessarily weight loss. The training and nutrition plans are based on specific caloric intake that can be easily determined by weight, height, and age. This stuff can be "easily" done, but truth is some people prefer having someone giving them a plan.
The only hot waters you can land on would be caused if she claimed to be a doctor, nutritionist etc, or if she didn't have you sign the usual disclaimers. You and your doctor are the ones who need to determine if you are fit enough to participate in this type of program, that responsibility cannot fall on Chikara, that is true whether you work with a personal trainer irl or join a gym on your own. Also, there are limited spots because you can contact her if you have any issues or if you are stuck. If she had more than 200 people participating it would be impossible to manage.
The currency choice is not unusual, I work in IT and we have developers who get paid in UK pounds, but live in other EU countries (it's just more money). Since the prize is in UK pounds and not in Bulgarian currency then it makes sense that you would pay the entering fee in UK pounds. I don't see why this is an issue.
