I miss when being liberal meant you cared about sensible things like worker's rights, women's rights, equal opportunity, equality before the law, etc. At least, that's what it meant to me. The idea of everyone having rights, opportunities, and responsibilities made sense. Now everything is bad and everyone's a victim. The idiots behind this are turning our society into an Orwellian/Huxleyan clown world. There's no such thing as sensible anymore because that's considered to the right of Mao and makes you an evil Nazi if you dare want any logic and boundaries.
For the record, I would love to share society with women, minorities, and immigrants. I really do wish we could just get along. Hell, I wish civic nationalism actually worked! It's a good idea that fell apart. I want a society of equal individuals who value their institutions and shared history. I would love it if we could acknowledge the wrongs of history while also acknowledging the corrections we've made and move on together. Instead we get these endless witch hunts and an American Cultural Revolution where there is no forgiveness or closure. It fucking sucks.
And I have one more thing to add this little sperg-out of mine. Maybe social justice needs its own Mao just to show everyone how awful the movement is. Mao ZeDong ruined the Cultural Revolution for Chinese communists. His impact was so awful that the official party had to dial it back and even admitted Mao and his movement were bad for China. Granted, China's not that much better off but at least they realized that going down Mao's path wasn't the right way. I'm not saying an American Mao would be good overall or that the United States needs or would benefit from that, but perhaps that's unfortunately what it would take for normies and elites to wake up. I hope I'm wrong though, because Mao was one of the world's most evil human beings.
Everything I see in this thread makes me glad KiwiFarms exists.
