Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

I agree, Nexpo isn’t nearly as bad as MamaMax. At least Nexpo doesn’t put on a fake deep voice to scare his audience into thinking his role as a YouTuber is more important than it actually is.

Also, MamaMax isn’t the first one to speak out about this shit, nor is he the loudest voice or even the most entertaining. There were tons of million+ sub count YT’ers calling out those predatory Elsa x Spider-Man videos that did a much better job getting a voice out there, informing and entertaining people.

MamaMax’s schtick is a double-edged sword: on one side, he fucks his own content by making it overwhelmingly edgy; on the other, he wouldn’t stand out from any other channel without it.

Honestly with Nexpo the only times he has really been cringe in my opinion is whenever he takes influence from MamaMax or brings him to help with his videos since MamaMax basically tries to force his friends to do the dumb Hotline Miami shit.

True. Tbh, his videos have gotten significantly better. Most of the “edgy” shit for me were the gay ARG’s he would get himself entangled in constantly and make hour long videos about them where the conclusion was “it’s not real”. It was like an episode of Law & Order with how formulaic those videos were.

His newest stuff is much more entertaining, barring any appearances by MamaMax. I’m glad to see he’s been improving on his videos.

This is somewhat related I think. I used to listen to spooky drug trips a lot, %90 of them were on Jimsonweed/Datura.
Because it's a pretty common ornamental vine, bunch of dumb kids or hippies who would do anything to not stay sober eat their seeds to get high then go through horrifying delirious stages during which they aren't able to tell what is a hallucination and what's real and have something that is more like a schizophrene with dementia having a bad trip would experience than some fun psychedelic ride.

She's sometimes a bit too PC for my taste, but her videos are interesting nonetheless.

Yeah and he puts a sting after he pauses. Absolutely annoying. Still, he’s definitely not as bad as MamaMax. If you think Nexpo is bad, holy shit, you’re in for a wild ride with MamaMax. He cranks it up to 11 with the over-edited cringe.

Constant shit “glitch” effects, try hard fake-deepvoice that makes him sound like shit, awful horror ambience blaring over his obviously farce gravel tone, obnoxious self-righteousness, white and black filtering while also being overexposed which makes his videos a visual nightmare, huge victim complex, and art-student-home film tier clips spliced in his videos for no apparent reason other than “look at me, guys. Isn’t this FUCKING EPIC?” (Seriously, his homemade Hotline Miami clips are a repository for constant cringe).

Yeah, Nexpo has a few annoying attributes, but MamaMax is nothing but annoying attributes. But of course, he gets away with it because he’s “fighting the good fight”, despite all his videos being completely ineffective in enacting even the slightest amount of change. Seriously, him and Nexpo got BTFO by a fucking children chat site moderation team. Idk how you fuck up that badly.

One of the few of these people that actually manages to make insightful dives into stories that many have tried and failed to cover properly. Doesn't try to drum up the "mystique" of topics that have been done to death, he actually gets to the bottom of things that others have barely even scratched the surface of, or just entirely avoid the answer to.

Here's one I'm surprised wasn't mentioned and is actually pretty chilling. Urmaker makes videos on old 911 calls, explaining the case and allows you to listen to the calls nearly completely unedited. They're pretty harrowing to say the least. He's made quite a few, oh and he has one video he did on his own daughter that is a serious fucking tear jerker so beware on that one.

Eskify (when he uploads) is another top 10 channel who occasionally does "horror". His stuff is basic, but he does some deadpan humor that has made me snicker before.

ScareTheater is alright, I used to watch his stuff a lot like 4 years ago. His voice is annoying though, and he doesn't really provide insightful commentary most times. I just put him on as background noise nowadays.

The catastrophic failures he discusses are very good...dark humor in a way? Like you sit there thinking "what the fuck" at the choices made by everyone throughout the video and then you feel relieved that we live in 2020.

Oh that's one of my favorite videos of his. Whenever I wonder why anyone could be opposed to further research into using nuclear power as a green energy source, I think about the retards on this earth and what they could do if they got their hands on it.

I remember watching Nexpo around two years ago, I was watching some of his early to mid videos and they were alright. I did like the variety it wasn't just strictly mystery, real life horror stories or ARGs. I think I also ended up watching some of Atrocity Guide, and like some of her videos too. However I had the habit of listening to a story and if I didn't like it to check the channel for somthing more interesting and soon I burned through it and got to a point were it all became a little stale.

When it comes to MamaMax, I can’t help but look at his actions with some scrutiny. If he was so determined to kill these pedos and animal abusers, why announce your intentions in public? That’s a sure-fire way to cause them to go into hiding.

Not only that, but if the protection of these children and animals are top-priority, then why are you so upset about demonitization and always plugging your Patreon? Surely you wouldn’t be using these horrific incidents to line your own pockets even just a little bit, right? He says it’s so he can do this, but I’m highly doubtful.
