It's an attempt by effete white liberals to either sound folksy or imitate ebonics. It ends up being condescending any way you slice it.
Speaking of which, "folks" is another one of their tried and true favs.

I think the main idea behind that is that people who lived like eskimos, seal hunting and such, could potentially slowly cross the atlantic along the ice age ice shelf and wind up in North America. Even if that did happen the amount of people who came to America over the Bering land-bridge would be proportionally far greater during a similar time period. How did they get to America, though?
Exactly. "Other people's servers" doesn't have quite the same ring though. For me, it's any variation of 'cloud' or 'in the cloud' in a computer related context. The way soyboys and technology companies talk about it, you'd think it's some sort of magical alternative universe where the normal laws of physics don't apply, and not just someone else's computer that they had the good grace to give you access to. It's especially grating when it's used as a way to sound trendy or progressive, as if giving up the last bit of control or privacy over your sensitive data is anything to be proud of.

It doesn't help when the "team" in question is full of employees and supervisors that have no interest in being functional, contributing team players. I was briefly part of such a team and it was a relief and not a disappointment when I learned I'd be pulled from that job assignment after just 3 months and moved to a different client and project that didn't have any of the predecessor's dysfunctional BS.Big corporations that refer to their employees, especially those in diminutive wagie positions, as a "team". Bright, shiny language doesn't make their jobs any less shit.
I always find this dehumanizing because it reduces people to nothing more than a body that lacks any sort of uniqueness or individual traits.Whenever they refer to "bodies" - e.g. "black bodies", "trans bodies", etc.
This was pushed hard in the early 90s and the era of political correctness with the reason being that women could also deliver mail or work in sales which would make the -man suffix inappropriate for them. I always thought to myself, "Why can't we just use -man or -woman as appropriate and -person for the generic/unknown case?""Person" and "persons", "person" as in "mailperson", "salesperson" and similar forms,
There is a certain something to hear "Hey beer wench!"or even worse, as a replacement for a gender specific term. eg.: barmaid changed into barperson. i'd rather be called wench.
As grating as it is for a person to insist on plural pronouns for their individual self, I find the whole ze/zir/xem/etc. list of pronouns more annoying because they simply don't look like words that have any sort of real meaning.People using the "they/them" pronouns a lot these days irritates me.
”Fair beer wench, couldst thou refill mine tankard of Stella?”There is a certain something to hear "Hey beer wench!"![]()
It just reminds me of the royal we.As grating as it is for a person to insist on plural pronouns for their individual self
There's a reason propaganda uses so many slogans-- the normies remember it, and spout it everywhere. Some want easy solutions to complex problems, some want to virtue signal and act smarter than you, and most have to fit in like a bunch of human chimps. It's not so much the terms themselves (as retarded as they are) but the vapidity and repetition. I hate repetition. I despise people who can't form a thought of their own and just regurgitate whatever they hear.
