Honestly, I think that anime conventions and similar "scenes" are kind of the modern-day equivalent of PT Barnum's sideshows.

Not all Japanese animation is necessarily "bad" or "perverted", but the sheer amount of degeneracy seething out of anime conventions and anime as a "fandom" in general never ceases to surprise me anymore. With the lowest hanging fruit, I think that emotionally stunted individuals who can't relate personally or sexually to anything other than childish cartoon characters tend to pervade it.

If fact, if there was an anime group where discussions about perverted stuff like incest, loli, and the like are not par for the course, I'd be pleasantly surprised. Individuals like this are just further proof of the pudding.

Context: At an anime convention in the early 2000s, Lori’s 2nd husband Luis allegedly got a 16-year-old cosplayer drunk and raped her. Lori then allegedly laughed in the victim's face and encouraged her to commit suicide. Thankfully, the 16-year-old was eventually hospitalized and survived. Lori also abandoned a teenager with special needs alone in the city of Baltimore at night. Fortunately, the teen was eventually found safe. No charges were ever filed for these incidents and Lori has expressed no remorse for her sociopathic behavior. According to Lori, it go "blown out of proportion" and "shit happens." It’s so funny to me that Lori and Kevin think they’re so slick whiteknighting as an anon over on the lolcow thread. Funny how the white knights only show up on the anon thread and never over here. I’m an oldfag and was around during all of the livejournal drama from day one and was actually ~blessed~ with access to Lori’s sacred friends list, so I saw everything unroll front and center. She absolutely has not changed and deserves every single thing that is happening to her. Somehow she was allowed to fly under the radar for a very long time without consequence. Ignoring the fact that she’s just as terrible now as she was 20 years ago, she deserves all the karma from how awful she was back then. She left a lot of victims in her wake, and sometimes it takes years of reflection and healing for the victims to realize the extent of the abuse they endured at the time. The “anon” seems to want to disregard this and simply sweep everything under the rug and grant her a clean slate just because time has come between Lori and (some of) her more abhorrent behavior. That’s not how it works.
Lori and Kevin should also stop trying to post as anon to defend her because it always backfires. As @OhGodHowDidThisGetHere mentioned, this time they confirmed the “C” rape allegations.
