The current Chinese military, elite units excepted (who are crazy badass in that Spetnaz way you can only have when there are no human rights and recruit hazing deaths can be quietly buried), are a complete fucking joke due to the "chinese prince" syndome because of said population policies - they are only children, the only hope of the family surviving, and as events in himalyas demonstrated have zero interest in getting ventilated by some curry-stanking foreigner so the CCP can claim a few dozen more yards of barren rock as unalienable chinese territory. They also have a big gender inbalance and have gone to human trafficking the more chinese-looking Vietnamese* when they aren't raping muslims.
Anyway they are already attempted to turn their military in a Imperial Japan style brain laundry, and once they have a population that isn't having how special and valuable they are drummed into their heads by their parents, it'll be interesting to see how they throw that weight around, especially with the western militaries ensuring they are instutions not about warfighting but about making sure women and trannies feel empowered.
I guess what I'm saying is visit Taiwan while there's still a Taiwan to visit.
