Donal has decided to
take shots at the newly launched campaign
Justice City Chronicles by stating that it is aping the artwork of Joe Madureira's Battle Chasers. His posted example... two characters in a similar pose. I'm not too familiar with Battle Chasers, so I can't fully comment on this accusation. Perhaps someone else can lend their expertise. However, this tweet seems (to me) to be somewhat bad form, with one CG creator calling out a much smaller CG creator with accusations of unoriginality. Blatant copying, even. Donal goes on to say that 90% of the art on the campaign page seems to be after Mad's work.
Seems like Donal is lashing out a bit recently, also
claiming that there aren't really any iconic characters coming out of CG besides CyberFrog. This thread was predictably flooded with other CG creators posting their own character designs or others that they personally liked. Donal claimed that not being "iconic" did not mean that a character design wasn't good. His distinction was that an iconic character has "good shapes, distinctive look, overall design simplicity." I could smell the pizza grease burning as his brain tried to conjure up this Oxford-level definition consisting of qualities that are clearly objective and measurable.
He has also drawn the ire of a few of the
WC remnants over his perceived loyalties to Ethan.
All this while his campaign remains unfulfilled and Nasser unpaid (and again accused of spreading
misinformation).
Thoughts?
