I feel like I already have. Vaccines are now available for everyone 16+ who live in certain zip codes starting March 22, who have 'certain medical conditions.' When asked about verification, they said they would require ID with address but they would "trust" that people had said medical conditions, no questions asked.

Unemployment is, on the other hand, making you prove that a medical provider advised you not to return to work. Of course, of course. Nevermind that you may have had a condition for years (decades, even) and are not currently being managed by a doctor because lol you're fucking poor. There is no GP to get records from either. Sucks for them!

Hmmm, who was it that locked shit down and got people all scared to the point they're spraying alcohol on their Amazon packages, anyway? Even my roommate stayed the fuck home for a week and he literally, in the near decade I've known him, has never taken time off of work except scheduled vacation time.

I personally have rescinded my UI appeal and am making perfunctory attempts to find some stupid easy job just to get out of the house - fuck the state, no taxes from me assholes. I'm very lucky during these trying times that I have the luxury to remain in this holding pattern of "wait-and-see," but boredom really is getting the best of me.

One of my friends has been hounding me daily to sign up for the covid shot. He said how he'd love the opportunity (although since it said people in his age group could get in with pre-existing conditions, he probably could have signed up if he really wanted to. He's already had covid too, but is just so pumped to get a shot on top of it. I have a hard time imagining that actually does much more than entertain the government with how high they can make people jump.

He's also threatening that he doesn't want to have any contact with me if I don't get the vaccine, even though he was willing to visit another friend of ours who currently has covid to bring him supplies.

I've only got about a 0.6% risk of dying from covid with my stats, I'm not sure what the vaccine's adverse effects at at the moment, but I still can't shake the suspicion we'll have some thalidomide baby oopsie a few years out where a noticible number of people develop autoimmune disease or something from it. I want to push it off to the point where I have no choice.

I like how they word it so it's as scary as possible. I'm no expert, but in PCR reactions there are these things called primers. These primers bind to the genetic material you want to copy and amplify. In this case a section of the COVID genetic material. This is what you are testing for, whatever these little primers bind to. Every time the test material gets heat cycled, the genetic material attached to the primers doubles. (that's where the cycle threshhold thing comes from, how many heat cycles). Anyway basically this means the "new mutant" is very different on one of these standard primers they have been using, and has sites so different that it won't bind to them. All that means is they have to redesign the primers for the newer version, it doesn't mean they could "ZOMG ITS UNDECTABLE! RUN!" I hate the media, you know that's how they are going to spin that. I'm so tired of spin. 🤡🌏

Can't edit my original post for some reason, updating here.

Felt kinda cold and 'off' after driving home post-vaccine. Stayed at my side chick's place the same night, felt fine.

Got in bed around midnight, still fine. Within 5 minutes I was violently shivering, had a blistering headache, and felt like I'd been hit by a train.

Drove my ass home around 3am after intermittent hallucinations, then spent about 6 hours wishing suicide in bed.

Woke up around 6pm tonight feeling much better, albeit still shitty.

0/10, would not recommend.

I've heard that the vaccine is harder hitting if you've actually already been infected and gotten over it. No idea if that's true or not.
