There's the merest kernel of truth to it at best - like if someone has smile lines, hey, perhaps they smile a lot. And as you say, these people are the last ones who should be promoting such a theory.

They're recycling the old af MyPostingCareer meme "PHYSIOGNOMY IS REAL", which was funny when it was first made on there, and then became funnier & more and more popular as an in-joke meme, as more and more of the real people behind big political pundit Twitter accounts that MPC trolled would be revealed to fit some ugly, samey, weirdo bugman 'look' that only seemed to vary dependent on which political affiliations they were most associated with. It was a joke more than anything, as the site kinda unintentionally classified, catalogued, & ridiculed into embarassing cognitive malfunction so many of the different types and leading examples of the political parasite creatures who've heavily contributed to the sad clownish state the world's now in, with the one small compensation being that these spineless, self-important strivers were so easily trolled into making insane fools of themselves, that many either became some of today's favorite political lolcows to follow, or ruined their credibility and personal reputations even further beyond any cowhood, to now be complete nonentities

Controlling for socioeconomic status, we find that more attractive individuals are more likely to report higher levels of political efficacy, identify as conservative, and identify as Republican. These findings suggest an additional mechanism for political socialization that has further implications for understanding how the body intertwines with the social nature of politics.

I can't find a paper on the subject, only news articles and a book, but there was also a study showing "very right wing" people had a much higher level of satisfaction with their sex life than liberals and the far left. Maybe it's due to their pair bonding not being fucked, but I think having a pretty partner would be another valid reason.

Looks are very important and particularly in politics they're incredibly useful. An example of this governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem, who has led the state to among the highest per capita Corona rates in the world, has a 20 point(!!!) approval rating difference between men and women. Simply put, if you're good looking you get away with a lot more and people have a lot more tolerance for when you fuck up(particularly people of the opposite sex).
Despite having similar population levels, South Dakota has about 2x the amount of corona as of March. Yet, pretty much the only people complaining and demanding more in South Dakota are women.

IIRC cenk from the young turks had a pac called the Justice Democrats that did help people like AOC and Ilhan Omar to get elected so we'll see if nick can get anyone elected or just ruin all the candidates political careers and lives

I remember Cenk having that pac, but I don't remember him using it solely as a means of self-promotion, or publicly associating his own identity and ego to the pac/it's politicians in any way that'd poison their prospects. Thus, I must conclude that Fuentes is an even bigger, dumber, more egotistical and narcissistic blowhard lolcow self-promoter than fuckin Cenk Uygher :story:

Isn't physiognomy about your raw physical characteristics e.g. small nose, prominent cheekbones, large forehead etc.? I think that a lot of the "attractive" politicians and commentators that people point to have put a lot of effort into their appearance. Noem definitely spends more than 5 minutes getting ready to appear in public and as you point out, she wouldn't be nearly as photogenic without the help of a team of stylists. What I mean to say is that the success of someone like Noem doesn't prove physiognomy is a real thing (I'm not sure if that's what you were saying anyway). It just proves that when you're appealing to voters who put a lot of stock in outward appearance, you need to invest heavily in the way you look. If it was me running for office in South Dakota, that would be one hefty bill!!
