Discussing on discord how the permits of Nintendo are being wasted hard because the Nintendo DS/3DS doesnt have a reliable way to capture footage without touching doodooemulators, Nintendo should release a adapter for the switch or release the games on the store, such wasted potential, even the GBA had the consolizer why the DS doesnt have one properly marketed

The funny thing with not touching doodoo emulators is that I believe some girls over at Nijisanji are playing Pokemon Platinum right now which is a title that only ever released on the DS. They either have a (hard) modded (3)DS and a rather sought after cartridge of a well loved game or are just emulating it. I feel like Hololive girls are just weary with emulating DS games because Nintendo might throw a shitfit and DS capture hardware has been becoming more and more rare since the people who've done it in the past had to close shop.
A DS consolizer is kind of weird to do because it has a whole 2nd screen and there are games that thoroughly use the touch screen gimmick but they did do it on the Wii U virtual console I believe. I find it kind of sad that the DS/3DS era doesn't have consolizers because there's some damn good games on those consoles that will forever be locked on that hardware and the only way to screen capture it is to either emulate, find an increasingly rare capture card to solder onto it, or pray 3DS Homebrew continues to improve on streaming output.

I love how Nintendo seems to thrive on being a company that makes bad decisions and won't upgrade their tech yet people still buy whatever shit they put out. They truly embody the overly bureaucratic and slow-changing Japanese mentality.

It is honestly sad how Nintendo really still doesn't understand that they have a massive fucking goldmine of a back-catalog of good software at their hands they would get tons of money if they invested in properly making their own emulation services to rival the likes of the Virtual Console from the decade old Wii era (which they have all the documentation on how to do so if the giga leaks the last few years have proven) and not drip feeding their catalog through a shitty online subscription; Or even just making their own official rom selling site where they just sell you the rom of Super Metroid or .iso of Super Mario Sunshine and tell you to fuck off and find your own emulator. However they'll never do either of those because they blatantly ignore emulators and piracy as a legit competitor and assume people wont choose getting the better experience by pirating and emulating their games because "it's illegal guys" and pump out some shit like NES-Online while marketing the fact it has a save state and rewind feature, which is what the majority of emulators had working more than 20 years ago.
