Does the original Space Jam hold up?

So the name of the evil computer villain that wants to steal Lebron's instagram followers is "AI-G Rhythm" and is played by Don Cheadle... and Lebron's son wants to be a "video game developer", so I guess he'll "hack" the villain in the end or something. :stress:

What a compelling-looking villain... Its just Don Cheadle playing Don Cheadle on crack.
LeBron's face in that still is the best reaction to this trashfire of an idea.

I can't wait until it's called a success because it too beat a Disney movie in the sales.

Fuck this culturally pandering BS movie. How the fuck does Instagram and going through random WB films like Wreck-It-Ralph 2 on speed make a Space Jam film?

Just make Space Jam again, how hard is it to do that?
As others have speculated, it's most likely that they wanted Kobe before the obvious happened. That version of the film was probably closer to the original.

Reading this is mere proof that Industrial Society & Its Future was not supposed to be just fan fiction.

“digital world of the Warner Bros server farm by an evil AI that wants to steal lebron’s instagram followers” = fanfiction gone the way to the trash can

It’s not even an actual sequel either, it’s basically a reboot.
Which begs the question of how they even plan to incorporate the girl bunny into this if it has zero connection to the original.

It wouldn't even be that hard. Sure the premise for a sequel to a mediocre film will sound lame no matter what, but it shouldn't so hard to make a decent follow up. Just have the fat green asshole from the first film come back with a new basketball team made up of Marvin Martian and the Mars Attacks Martians if they desperately want a crossover so bad, or have it be Looney Tunes vs HB characters who want to fight over wanting to undo their lost relevancy or something.

The fact they’ve waited this long to actually show anything just convinces me more this will be shit
Better than with Godzilla v. Kong, tbh. We got the GvK trailer back on January 24, and the movie came out just this week. That's two months to Space Jam 2's three months (slated for July 16).

The hype between the two properties is different, though, and luckily GvK delivered in what it set out to do despite the delays and teasing. Meanwhile, everything about Space Jam 2's production screams disaster with the virtue signaling.
