Tranny shit in my opinion is absolutely a cult movement. I have a minor fascination with the cults of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, though I can't claim to be an expert. One of the interesting aspects is that many are hard to classify. People tend to focus on the fairly centralized ones like The Family International, but what they miss is that in the 70s especially, what you had a lot of as well was cult movements. A lot of black power organizations were half-cult, a lot of feminist and especially lesbian organizations were basically cults. The Democratic Workers Party for example was theoretically a fringe communist party, but that was just on paper - the reality was that you had a lesbian running an urban commune house in (if I recall correctly) San Francisco, trying to start satellite communes and getting individual members to donate money to "the party". This was pretty organized compared to some tranny houses and projects like the Tranch, but these were boomers and not millennials so they could get things done sometimes, and troons are useless.

What has allowed the troon movement to fly under the radar so long is, in my opinion, the amount of money put into lobbying up front shifted the narrative really rapidly starting about 10 years ago. Troons used to just be the butt of sitcom jokes but otherwise nobody really thought of them, and there weren't very many. This shift let the people supporting the existence of more troons control the narrative. Troons' own disorganization and fuck uppery lets them run very decentralized cult networks that fly under the radar and are mostly online, but still seem to involve quite a lot of coercion and manipulation of victims. Getting victims to "maximally" transition means that even detransitioning probably doesn't mean full deprogramming - these victims likely aren't reuniting with their families and the "transphobic" friends they were told to abandon, or, as often seems the case, they got sucked in as isolated teens and didn't have many friends to begin with. As much as I don't have much respect for them, it's depressing that no real efforts can be made to dismantle these self-perpetuating cult networks and rehabilitate the victims to put an end to troonery altogether, without those efforts being branded "transphobic".
