Not exactly news but trade materials are uh, exploding right now. From personal experience it's gonna make a lot of construction unsustainable. Most places are throwing the blame on rising import prices.

A lot of it is likely down to transportation issues. Ports and sea-based shipping is a nightmare right now with deliveries backed up to hell and gone and pricing rising accordingly. So much crap in various production chains has been outsourced that most materials, items, and products are screwed with in one way or another.

How could lumber be through the roof? Don't we grow that shit domestically?

Ironically the US actually gets a lot of its building lumber (particularly softwoods) from Canada. The pricing (to my knowledge) is largely down to the current border situation and transportation backlog.

• Has his shit pushed in by North Korea, who don’t even show him the dignity of a formal response, but taunt him via the leader’s sister. Threatens hot war in response
• Gets led around by CCP diplomats in Alaska to make USA look ineffectual and incompetent

Buddy of mine works for a big logistics company. He told me multiple times they can not get any shipping container anymore anywhere. Nowhere in the world you'll find one atm for transportation. China bought them all starting back at covid beginning. They still have them, and ready made shipments can't be processed further because there are no containers. Trucks are overoccupied too, don't get your hopes up it's going to be rough for a while for logistics.
