I don't see why that would prove it as fake. The screenshots themselves were likely taken recently, not back in 2017 - hence the timecode displaying the year. I've never used whatsapp but wouldn't his profile picture change for all his contacts if he changed it? What I mean is since he uploaded that picture to instagram, he changed his profile picture, then sometime after that the screenshots were taken.

As long as you’re not a blocked number, every time Dan changes his profile picture you‘d see the new profile picture too. The way it specifically shows „Dec 2017“ means that it’s a recent screenshot of an old chatlog.

I don't know why people are citing ProJared as an example of someone who was vindicated. Unless I missed or misinterpreted something, he 100% copped to running a "sexual positivity" server where he traded nudes with fans (along with his wife) with only a "are you 18?" used as age verification. It's fucking creepy for a youtuber to leverage parasocial relationships to pry nudes and/or sex out of their fans, especially when there's such a massive age gap like in this case.
