Leave it to Phil to actually believe in his own “unkillable” meme. Fucking idiot doesn’t realize that the joke is that you can’t kill someone whose career is already dead, not that we actually believe Phil is unkillable.
Someone said something very pertinent a few pages back (I forgot which user it was but that comment has really made its impact on me; credit goes to whoever said it) and I believe it warrants repeating: Phil can’t be cancelled because he already cancelled himself years ago.
Years of being deemed as the internet’s court jester; being the buttend of every content creator’s bottom of the barrel joke when they have nothing to talk about; being a persona non-grata within his own platform (DansGaming literally apologizing for donating subs to DSP... amazing); and essentially being known as the person you do not want to be if you do content creation, Phil has been a dead man walking for over half a decade now. His dwindling Twitch viewership proves that and as Phil just commented in this latest Twitter clout chasing feud, financials aren’t everything and it’s not a metric Phil should be judged on because he’s an anomaly in that aspect (I personally believe detractor circles like ours contribute to his financial success but that’s the topic for another post).
The “incident” is the pinnacle moment of the end of his career. When anyone who is aware of DSP has the following reaction: “Wait, aren’t you the dude who got caught jacking off on stream in front of children years ago...? And you’re still here?”, no further comment needs to be added.
This subforum’s summary of DSP is still relevant today in regards to Phil’s situation: “[...] notorious Lets’s Player who built an empire on failure and a permanently sinking ship.”
That’s why when DSP partakes in the occasional schadenfreude, you can literally taste the irony through your screen. And these are the moments when we get to witness and experience peak Phillsm, the most oblivious and least self-conscious person on the planet.
Never change Phil, never change.
