YouTube Commentaries are still all over YouTube. Most of us here probably knew what are they about via the infamous Anthony Logatto, who once made lots of unfunny commentary videos on Chris, later to be discovered and mocked for his powerlevelling.

Now, fast forward today when the GamerGate drama is happening. Imagine if there's an atheist version of him, more unfunny version of him, and instead of making commentary vids on Chris, he makes commentary vids on feminist/GamerGate-related vids. That will be The Atheist Gamer (Powerword: Emanuel Fonseca), self-entitled "Part ranter, part gamer, part anti feminist, part otaku" (It's from his YouTube About page)

How are these YouTube vids like? Well, it's similar to Anthony Logatto, but it's probably much worse. Most of his vids don't bring up points/facts/arguments and all he did is making unfunny jokes after every seconds of the video he's commentating on. Some of his vids can even take up to 20 minutes. He literally thinks CWC has unironic fans.
Him jumping on the CWC getting arrested drama commentating on it.
Pretty much the vid that got us introduced to him. Him making a vid about ADF.

It's always amazing how these things turn out.
I'm like "ooh, an anti-feminist le fedora brigadier - I've seen a lot of these guys, so I'm probably going to go there and see just how swiss-cheesy this guy's arguments are."
And then I see that the guy unironically calls himself a "YouTube ranter".
...at which point everyone can probably see that this is going to be particularly unfunny. I don't think anyone wants to live in an universe where being a YouTube Ranter is a day job. (But sadly, we do.)

I literally can't watch this. It hurts. There's quote about movies that applies to this as well I think. "In most cases, failure is magical. It's awe inspiring, and you marvel at exactly what steps were taken and how everyone involved proceeded with the project without an ounce of self awareness. A bad comedy is not that. A bad comedy is soul crushing and painful."

It's the same reason I could make it through nearly every Chris Chan video/leak, including the tomgirl stuff when it first happened (He was in a thong!), but to this day I have yet to watch the entirety of the A-Log standup video.

Edit: Wow the word filter stopped me even when I was saying his name to mean his name.

Personally I miss the good ol' days when DonExodus was actively making videos promoting science and debunking creationism. There was even a time when most of Thunderf00t's vids were science related. There was another guy who made videos exclusively about how to think critically and skeptically and rarely addressed religion directly. Now everyone wants to talk about feminism. (:_(

Ironically "common sense" is something creationists often cite to support their arguments. Emanuel must have graduated from the Kent Hovid school of debate.
