What happened to Emril

Solution
So he’s not dead, that’s good. But why did he basically fall off the face of the earth for 9 years?
Hard to say? He had his own show on some network called Ion, and he makes 9 figures a year off of his TV shows, books and restaurants. So it's not like he fell off the face of the earth, it's just he did what every actual chef did: got as far as fuck away from Food Network as he could.
I killed him sorry
You fucking prick. How could you hurt a man like this?

Wait, what’s the issue with the food network???

Well most of the professional, restaurant owning chefs bounced in the 90s. They axed No Reservations after one season, they dropped Malto Mario, then Emril bounced too. They were all replaced by people like Rachel Ray and that woman who cooks using canned and boxed shit, and Guy Fieri. At one point the only thing worth watching was Good Eats and that was gone shortly after the exodus of every talented chef with one exception, Bobby Flay. Theory on that one is they had something dirty on Bobby so he was fuckin stuck while his peers fled for greener pastures.

Got famous, licensed his name to a ton of random shit, still shows up places when people wanna pay his appearance fee. Truly the dream life.

What happened to good eats? Why did it ever stop? That was my jam as a young kid. I used to watch all of those. I’m a decent cook, maybe partly because of watching the food network back in the day.

The Good Eats revival is in its second or third season now, along with his retconning original Good Eats episodes. The new episodes this season were on... Discovery+? I dunno, I downloaded them.

The only thing he does on Youtube is bicker with his wife once a week on livestream.

Nothing compares to the charm of the original seasons. They were quirky educational and always fun. He taught you how to do things perfectly and why before the internet. He was truly a legend, so much more than the other “chefs”. The whole wife/metrosexual thing turns me off now.
