Police respond to active shooter situation at King Soopers in Boulder
The Boulder Police Department is warning people to stay away from the King Soopers store at 3600 Table Mesa Drive because of an active shooter at the store.

Department officials tweeted the warning at 2:49 p.m. A public information officer was on their way to the scene. Further information was not immediately provided.

The King Soopers anchors a large shopping center in the southern part of Boulder, a few blocks from Fairview High School.

I don't think these are legitimate shooters.

I believe it's happening. Just don't think these attacks are organic. If it was a serious gta player then a mayor's office would've been burning by now considering the current political evivoment

Not these targets of insignificance
I'm shocked we haven't seen these incidents rise to like 10 times the usual to be honest given the current social environment. I mean honestly just due to pure social deprivation of the last year I've been feeling twice as paranoid and pissed off about everything as I was in late 2019, and I know that's pretty much the standard; I can't imagine the state of somebody who's already unstable and can't contextualize those feelings against losing social contact/economic opportunities thanks to what's looking like shitty government health policy.

That's not even necessary. There are more guns than people in America (about 400 million, and in 2020 alone there were approx. 21 million new NICS background checks done).

That genie is simply not going back in the bottle.
I disagree, all they need to do is restrict ways to get ammunition and for new younger people to get involved while grandfathering in the older people. This will allow things to slowly bleed away over generations.

The boomers are already restricting ways to get ammunition because they panic buy and hoard all the fucking ammunition, and buy up all the .22LR to get the powder in it.

True, they can play the long game. But that's a VERY long game.

My left nut for a box of 9mm, my kidney for 12G slugs...

It is, but if they need to bite the bullet (pun intended) they'll just bite the bullet and do it. It is not the first long game the US has successfully pulled off, like the centralization of the Federal Government over State Power through the Civil War, New Taxation in the late 19th/early 20th century, and the strengthening of the Judiciary that has been constantly happening over the entire existence of the United States.

I know boomers who've learned the ammo shipment rounds to stores so they can be the first to buy. Their biggest surprise was that there were other people who do the exact same thing. You've gotta go to unknown ammo stores in 2nd tier cities in pro-gun states to have a remote chance at finding .22, or 8/9mm.

If there's something that spooks the public you'd be lucky to find paintballs

For a state with some of the worst mass shootings (Columbine HighSchool, the 2012 movie theater shooting) in the United States this just makes no sense. You would think there would have been a push to implement it after what has happened in the past. Even by the public.
As much as I am in support of execution by firing squad or guillotine for many crimes, and think its a massive shame we do it in an ineffective, medicalized way due to drug companies that refuse to provide drugs for it, the reason why some people push to ban the death penalty is because the cost of all the years of judicial process that these people get is more than just incarcerating them for life, supposedly.

Has the shooter been named yet? It's weird that the suspect's identity hasn't been reveled to the general public. Unless he didn't have any identification on him when he was arrested. He was in his underwear when they pulled him out of the store.

It sure is a coincidence that this all happens after an assault weapons ban was revoked by a judge in Colorado (rate me late for that hot take but whatever), but what I'm more curious about is who the shooter is.

If he's passably white like Nikolas Cruz was (I'm not sure what exactly his ethnicity is--his brother Zachary looks straight up half-black) he'd be plastered all over the news by now.

My guess is that the suspect is black, Arabic, obviously Hispanic (possibly illegal), female, or "female", that's why they're not showing it yet.

It was a Muslim shooting after all.

How could white supremacists do this?

Boulder is a seriously retarded hyperliberal town. They really think bans and laws and punitive taxes will stop criminals from entering their special elitist bubble and they can legislate people into not being murderous freaks. Most people who live there are wealthy, spineless academic betas who think guns are evil and useless; this incident was like shooting fish in a barrel.
University of Colorado is a mistake.

Thanks for the update. I'm on CNN but it's livefeed is slow.

Ahmad Al Issa...

I see the suspect is a Muslim given the name. Could this be a terrorist attack?
Golly gee, sure is a caucasian-sounding name!

This is gonna get dropped from the news headlines like a hot potato. Biden's gonna look real lax if this turns out to be a Snackbar-motivated shooting.

Or they'll just blame the NRA. Even though IIRC Colorado has a scary assault clips ban and red flag laws.

Edit: or, they'll excuse the snackbar, and resort to whataboutism about white supremacist domestic terror.
