Jay seriously needs a thread. She's a total grifter who makes her fame off of harassing other artists and causing unnecessary controversy for perceived slights or missteps. That aside, people have always said “gatekeeping is so bad, gatekeeping is so stupid, don’t gatekeep” but I’m coming around to the idea that gatekeeping in moderation might be the key to a healthier fandom.

Gatekeeping is just as bad, if not worse for fandom than annoying troonbends of our favourite characters. Your only hope is that the creator themself is actively involved in cultivating a like-minded community around their work, and even then there's no guarantee that X group won't eventually infiltrate.
Otherwise you're stuck with terminally online turboautists who act as fandom police. They're insufferable and ineffective at what they do.
It's best just to ridicule and laugh off retarded takes / headcanons and keep it moving.

Without checking I can bet you at least one whole Dogecoin that this person has 0 sense of human anatomy in their artwork and probably draws bean style. The tranny in the first reply is actually right for once, surprised at the self awareness. Learning anatomy is truly the art troon gatekeeper and I hope it stays that way.
Also noticed a lot of artists (as in fandom types, ofc) really hate those art tip accounts that post shit like that meme for that exact reason. Everytime there's a male vs female body tutorial you can bet the entire comment section is filled with "ACTUALLY THIS IS TRANSPHOBIC ART CAN BE WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE" with like maybe one or two sane people who have like 30 replies telling them why they're wrong. It's always a fucking spectacle.

Why is it so hard for these people to understand that these tutorials talk about general group trends? Those patterns exist and good know what they are to getvyour point across efficiently. Of course there are outliers and special circumstances that don't fit but those don't make the general rules wrong let alone useless.
