I didn’t understand why they needed to redesign this one at all. The only thing I don’t like about the original is the hair looking like a gross solid mass. He didn’t need to be darker or given locks. I absolutely don’t understand the small outfit changes At all.

Pachacamac and Tikal are from the same tribe and Knuckles and they're named after Incan and Mayan cities, respectively. Their home, Angel Island, is also vaguely themed around ruins of the Americas.
If Knuckles is anything, he should be indigenous South/Mesoamerican, not African.

The character of Sunday, however, is unironically a communist uwu enby OC (and I know this because I have come across the mod and looked at the background).

I do wish that both NM and the team gatekept more. Not only would it drive off some of these SJWs, but I feel the game might've had a chance to flourish more. Now there's so much fujos shitting up the mod scene with their OCs and gay Pico x BF fanart.
I swear, if Newgrounds ever hires a tranny mod and drives everyone of value away, it will quickly become the next Tumblr. I've already began to see a few genderspecial pro/noun spergs on there.

It's not impossible for Babs to be slightly darker, because dna can be wack at times.
My own sister has a skintone that's slightly darker than ours because we have some mediterranean ancestry and it wasn't passed down to the rest of my family. She's basically like, the opposite of a white-passing poc.
I also think it's interesting to note that despite being a white person ("culturally"), she's already been the target of racist remarks in school about how she looks muslim or whatnot, and how she's "rejecting it" or "bound to go to hell when she dies" if she mentions she isn't. Sounds familiar?
Also, is the "following the show's fur colors" part your interpretation, or taken from op? Because if that's the artist's actual intent, Scoot and Babs should be swapped considering Babs is, indeed, brown, whereas Scootaloo is orange.
