See, you think this is just a joke, but it would actually be hilarious. One of the old karaoke places I used to haunt in Pittsburgh had this regular known as "the mumbler," a guy who would get up without fail as often as he could in a night and pick solid songs and... just mumble them. Mumble-mush-mouth, you couldn't make heads or tails or anything this motherfucker was saying. Most people hated this guy, but I fucking loved him.

And I feel like that's what Lou would be, too - he'd be tone/pitch-deaf, completely off-key, absolutely terrible and slurring words together while fucking up the tempo, and it would be amazing because a narcissist tends to think that they're actually really good at shit like that. Just pure, undiscovered talent! He needs to be encouraged to work those pipes a little for his friends and fans.

Honestly, you've pretty much nailed it. Treating kids like individuals with their own thoughts and priorities generally goes over better, and it's especially useful when you're dealing with kids that have behavioral issues. When they feel relied upon and important, they're more likely to volunteer assistance before being asked, and it builds better habits.

But Lou wouldn't understand any of this, of course. He has a very skewed perspective on what is appropriate behavior regarding the raising of children. And considering that he's more likely to consider striking his nephew than helping raise him, no one should listen to anything Lou has to say regarding how to treat kids.
