This reminds me of that "facilitated communication" woo that was going around a few years ago. The practitioners were claiming they could talk to severely disabled people and get a response, but really they were just making it up or reading way too much into their movements and sounds to claim it was communication.

I read the NYT article about Anna Stubblefield, what a fucking disgusting woman she is. 40 years in prison is almost enough for sexually assaulting a retarded man twice.
Facilitated communication seems more like wishful thinking or an expression of the desperate hope of people around the non-verbal. Some of it seems legit, but then there are those anecdotes where F.C. fails completely. If Luna lives for a long enough time, I could see her mom either deciding to have her do F.C. or choosing to be her 'interpreter' because they have a psychic connection or some shit.

Luna's condition isn't hereditary, it was almost certainly caused by oxygen deprivation during birth. She was born with the umbilical cord around her neck, which could have been quickly rectified in a hospital setting, but Robyn chose to squirt the kid out in her bathtub with some random ladies she probably found on Craigslist, so Luna's head is full of cysts now.

Interesting that this happened shortly after people in the thread started tinfoiling about them evading CPS by not getting any healthcare for their kids.

There's really not much CPS can do. I don't know what the laws are like in Nevada, but most U.S. states basically let you medically neglect a kid if it's for religious reasons. The parents pretty much only get in trouble if the kid dies of something mundane like strep and there's lots of documentation.

Basically, if the kid isn't dead, visibly injured from abuse, or literally starving, CPS just gives a slap on the wrist.

I sometimes go to a real rock show they have once a year in my city. It’s run by mostly actual geologists and rock hounds so it brings in some really cool stuff but I’ve never seen these crystal woo idiots there, even though this would be the premier place for people who think rocks are magic.

I’d guess it’s because serious rock and gem collectors laugh at their BS. All the woo ppl seem to need polished and bright dyed stone to do their magic for some reason. It does look like half of Robyn’s magic rocks are just dyed, polished quartz.

Just finished the thread, and this makes me sad and angry on so many levels.

her potato baby still feels pain. Her quality of life is pain. Denying any amount of comfort for a child with an intensely painful degenerative condition by using rocks and oils is absolutely sociopathy.

and putting her through all of these useless therapies and photo sets is cruel. Let the child be as comfortable as she can for as long as her miserable life is and stop putting her through stressful things she can’t even perceive (even though comfortable is the furthest thing from poor Luna’s life).
I don’t feel bad for saying this (even though I probably should) but I genuinely hope that Luna passes soon, in peace and in her sleep, and not around her psycho mother
but then again this is a woman who willfully and repeatedly ignores medical advice, home births will never make sense to me.
Women in poverty ridden countries walk miles if they have the opportunity to have a hospital birth instead of playing the odds and squirting out baby in a shack.
I’ll never understand why animals in pain with terminal conditions are able to be euthanized in a humane way but not children like this who have no quality of life.
And echoing earlier comments: I can’t tell if Atlas actually has a weird sloping “small” head or if it’s just sad juxtaposition between the two, but either way I’m mad again because if he has any health issues they won’t have early intervention or any intervention at all.
