I've done a lot of reading recently on both Anarchy and Anarcho-Communism (where I believe they actually fall) and there's a huge trend you notice with very well off people being involved in it. I used to think it was just a meme but I really think a lot of their worldview comes from idolizing the lower classes from afar and constructing these alien moral frameworks to encase them in. They speak of "the oppressed" like children in their care, with even Kropotkin (writer of Conquest of Bread, namesake of Breadtube) being a wealthy landowning aristocrat.

I think it's also that well-off people have the luxury of not being productive. A kid in an inner city estate has more important things to worry about than Engels and Foucault, and it's not like their work is relevant to an older guy working a trade with a family to feed either. But if you're in your 20s and you've never actually had to worry about anything then I guess Max Stirner probably does seem worth worrying about.

Philosophytube getting a thread is a long time coming his videos have long been insufferable to sit through and only got worse recently.

The biggest thing I dislike about them is he often presents an extremely radical political/economic opinion and presents it in such a way that it seems logical and rational. Which it would be if you completely ignored all of the numerous catastrophic problems that would occur from doing it. My favorite is this one.

The general thesis of this video is the only way to permanently solve housing problems is for the state to seize all land. And that this will end homelessness and unaffordable housing.

Not realizing that this has been done before and it almost universally ends with a meme like economic crash. See: Zimbabwe. Where they went "Most of our farmland was given unfairly to white people, so we're just going to take it by force and give it to black people here instead." Not realizing the end result of just taking land from people is they just end up leaving the country and taking their money with them. And investment dries up almost entirely because nobody wants to invest in a country where the government can just seize whatever it wants whenever it wants for the greater good. Which led to the government just deciding to print money to try and fix this issue which led to the 100 trillion dollar bill becoming a thing. And they eventually just had to give up on their currency and adopt a foreign one.

Another instance where this occurred was the Soviet Union where there was communal housing in cities. The soviet union decided to adopt communal housing which was really popular with citizenry because "everyone needs housing". However because the government was focused on quantity and housing literally everyone this led to building what amounted to copy/pasted buildings block by block that were so cheaply produced that every floor had to share a bathroom. This was seen as a temporary solution to the "housing crisis" but they for some reason just never got around to actually fixing this new problem that they created to solve the old issue. And to this day these buildings still exist and get renovated by private companies into proper housing.

It also ignores a root cause of housing problems, which is usually economic in origin. And proposes a fantasy as a solution rather than something practical that would actually fix things. Most of the time a housing crisis occurs it's usually because a specific area has a sudden unprecidented economic boost that the local housing/infrastructure is unable to deal with. There aren't easy ways to solve these problems aside from just wait for the problem to fix itself gradually (with people just leaving to other cities and companies/investors going there too).

A lot of his fans seem to be really young and don't really critically think about how his proposed solutions to problems could actually be implemented or if they'd actually work. And this is in general a common thing with people interested in communism is it mostly appeals to young people who prefer bold dramatic solutions someone else should figure out as opposed to simple practical solutions that are proven to actually work.
