Rutgers University is requiring in-person students to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before the fall semester

Officials from New Jersey's Rutgers University announced Thursday that all students will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before attending in-person classes in the fall. This is believed to be the first major university in the United States that has made this requirement of students.

"Assurances from the federal government that vaccines will be available for all Americans by the end of May and assessments by public health experts prompted university leaders to adjust the vaccine requirements for the fall semester," the announcement reads.

Rutgers president Jonathan Holloway said in a statement that the school's administration is "committed to health and safety for all members of our community, and adding COVID-19 vaccination to our student immunization requirements will help provide a safer and more robust college experience for our students."

Students may request an exemption from vaccination for medical or religious reasons, Rutgers says. Students enrolled in fully remote online degree programs and those doing online-only continuing education programs will not be required to be vaccinated. Faculty and staff are also "strongly encouraged" to receive the vaccine, the school says. When reached for comment, a Rutgers spokesperson referred Yahoo Life to the official announcement.

A new study examining coronavirus vaccine response in pregnant and nursing women found that antibodies from mothers were present in their umbilical cord blood and breast milk, suggesting that inoculated women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may pass immunity on to babies.

The results suggested that “the baby does have protection; we just don’t know how long it will last,” Andrea Edlow, a co-author of the study, told NBC News.

The study also found that pregnant and breastfeeding women who receive the vaccine developed a “robust humoral immunity” to COVID-19, one that is comparable to women who are not pregnant or nursing.

However, the study, published by the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology was not meant to determine if the vaccine is safe for pregnant and nursing women to receive, Edlow noted to NBC News.

Edlow said its findings are essential for OB-GYNs and other doctors because pregnant and nursing women were largely left out of vaccine trials, which left medical professionals with “a complete lack of data.”


The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, however, noted that experts believe vaccines “are unlikely to pose a specific risk for people who are pregnant,” based on how they work in the body. They did note though that there is limited data on the topic.

The study, which took place at two academic medical centers, included 131 reproductive-age women, including 84 who were pregnant, 31 who were lactating, and 16 who were not pregnant for a control group. The participants were administered two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

Ft Lauderdale has tried really, really hard to stop the raving masses of spring breakers from destroying its beaches every year. If you look at the streams from Miami Beach this weekend where there was rambunctiousness bordering on violence, it's clearly a lot of young adult townies who came in and not the media created images of white fraternity brothers that fly back to their colleges while bringing the coof.

No city wants this type of thing to happen because it causes more problems than the influx of money brings. Just look at the history of Freaknik, the black Atlanta party weekend in April that got shut down when people started getting shot, stabbed, and robbed all the time.

I have a couple things I mention to people who ask me if I am getting it, one of them being a simple "I just don't really want to be part of the clinical trial phase" Something about the words "clinical trail" usually give people pause. If you say "I don't want to be a guinea pig/lab rat" then it doesn't seem to have the same effect. Most people don't understand what you have to sign off on for a clinical trial.

Neither the investigator, nor the trial staff, should coerce or unduly influence a subject to participate or to continue to participate in a trial.

None of the oral and written information concerning the trial, including the written informed consent form, should contain any language that causes the subject or the subject's legally acceptable representative to waive or to appear to waive any legal rights, or that releases or appears to release the investigator, the institution, the sponsor, or their agents from liability for negligence.

I feel like I am being coerced to take the vaccine, I am also giving up my legal rights by participating, because the drug companies are immune to litigation.

In terms of faking it, grab a vaccine selfie (like one of the people in line) put you face/body in instead. Then print off one of those cards, and watch a recent youtube video or twitter posting where the clown shows the vaccine card, and use the lot number etc. Should be enough for family members. Hell, you could even text them the pic of you in line, and be like "sigh I'm here". Just make sure its the same resolution as a normal picture you'd text from your phone.

I've lived through a few freakniks, the Ngr-r21 virus ripped through the area and left devastation in its wake and no mask could stop it.
