Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Uh oh...

I just realized something, Joe Biden said he wanted to invest in infrastructure projects, right? Where's that money going to come from?

What are the odds that Biden is going to seek to borrow money from the CCP and become part of the Belt and Road Initiative and waste the money on pointless throwaway projects that serve no purpose and intentionally don't return a profit?

In Regards to Voter ID laws.

Remember you have to have an ID to buy a can of compressed air to blow out a computer.
But not to vote.
You also need ID to buy alcohol, ciggies, and guns,

I suspect there will be kleptocratic donors, whoever they be, getting a bigger slice of this infrastructure pie than Joe Q. Public.

Any idea how the math works out for subsidizing multiple smaller trucks instead of one big one vs. having to repair the road all the time?
In terms of fuel expense, personnel expense, and environmental impact, the math works out terribly.

Maybe in a world of self driving cars and renewable energy, but for now bulk freight is less expensive by far, and this outweighs the burden on infrastructure.

Which is already typically offset by the fact that the state wants to encourage commerce to begim

But you don't need it to access porn on the internet.

...but you do need it to buy porn mags in a gas station.

You know, I don't think we've thought this ID verification thing through...

We shouldve listened to ford. She was trying to save us from having another John Roberts and we could've gotten a more based rino.

Don't say that-- a false #metoo'ing is a terrible thing, no matter who it happens to.

Trump needed to pay more attention to the people he was being recommended.

Something I've always found weird is how do American politicians feel about banning guns when the country is the largest producer of them? If they had their way and banned people from owning guns, wouldn't that kill a sizable portion of their economy? I mean, it's either they view that as worth it or all this crying about guns is purely performative for their base.

You do realize you're talking about the same group of American politicians that are all too happy to force "green energy initiatives", minimum wage increases, etc. that always ends up hurting us economically right?

Welcome to California! "Why are you making a U-turn?"
You are now leaving California! "Please come back!"

Seriously, can we just fence out that state? The amount of degeneracy and stupidity running rampant there shouldn't be able to get worse, and yet it keeps doing it.

Also just saw one of MTV's disingenuous "Our hearts go out to ________. Please stop ________-American violence" commercials. Keep in mind this is on TV Land, which shouldn't be getting those commercials in the first place. This time taking the massage parlor shooting and making it about Asian-American violence, when it was shown to be about a guy who couldn't get his dick wet.

Taxing by the mile is basically just a nicer way to say either of the following:

“Fuck the rural poor and fuck anyone who travels for work in physical trades”

“Let’s pass a tax that ironically burdens the same kinds of safety and construction contractors that keep our infrastructure functioning in the first place”

I also have some familiarity with transportation infrastructure; unfortunately, we already effectively have a mileage tax - the major source of funding for roads are the federal and state taxes on gasoline and diesel (currently about $0.40 - $0.50 per gallon total), the more you drive, the more you pay. Supposedly, the increasing number of electric vehicles has the highway agencies looking at alternate sources of revenue. However, the primary driver for this funding search is more likely the increasing cost of new construction - an increase that is outstripping the annual increase in revenue from the gas tax.

I don’t trust Buttigeg (or anyone else) to come up with a good funding alternative. It looks like they want to tax miles by mandating GPS trackers for all vehicles (while keeping the tax on fuel at the same time). I don’t know what a good (or least bad) alternative would be. Some states are starting to supplement the gas tax with a sales tax, which, I guess, could have some rationale - as roads benefit the commerce that make sales possible.
