That was me. I still have the domain and hosting purchased, but a lot of work shit came up that made it hard to find time to sit down and work through obscure PHP errors in ancient imageboard codebases. Plus, the farms had a lot of stability and QoL upgrades so the need wasn't as dire when I left it on the table.

Not really. It's not even lolicons that did the CP spam on 9chan. It was glowies trying to shoah the site. You can go to some of the non-porn boards there and check the logs, and you'll find people banned for CP posting.

lolifags can be fucking annoying tho, because they're conflating "freedom of speech" with no rules/anything goes.
however, in their defense there's some matter of principle and several different groups get thrown together into one - 2d loli is not even close to real cp, but good luck trying to even objectively discuss anything close without having tards show up behaving like it's reetardera. you could even see it here after the thread got moved.

EDIT: doesn't help that the loudest detractors are constantly getting outed as sexpests, so take that as you will.

Lately I'm thinking they won't try to compete too directly for now. Cover gave NijiEN auditions a couple months before they opened their own auditions for HoloEN Gen2, so they'd really need to rush to get the new gen ready as soon as NijiEN launches. It'd be cool to see both companies compete hard for viewers, but intercompany collabs are one of the biggest spectacles they could do and the EN market is a little short on that end. Currently, VShojo is mostly based on Twitch and everyone else is around Asian time zones.
