Christ, I'm not advocating machine-gunning them down at the border,

You should be, though. It should also be livestreamed, or made into infomercials for broadcast in South America.

Proposed Commercial said:
[Narrator, In Spanish] "Are you thinking of fleeing the shithole you've created for the United States?"
[Some Actor, In Spanish] "I want to apply for asylums and get lots of welfare! I'll go right now!"
[Footage of illegal border crossers getting machine gunned to death. The ones that survive the initial assault are executed by single gunshots to the head.]
[Narrator, In Spanish] "Think again before you make a fatal mistake."

Cow crossover! LibraryLass is one of MovieBob's orbiters on Twitter. What did he/she/it get banned for?
I just noticed that too! Was about to call @Positron to check it out because if that person got banned from there... she must have posted a video of killing a puppy or something.

Nothing so exotic. According to the RPGnet regime, she was trying to 'get one over' on Zeea.

Looking back, I found this bit of hilarity spouted out of the Wyzard's pie-hole:

Me, FVB, Cessna, Darren, et cetera, any of us could charitably have been described as a one-man wrecking crew when the mood strikes us, and we never ate more than ten percent of the shit that gets aimed at our various extraordinarily polite and considerate women/LGBT mods. NOBODY has ever aimed the crap at me that gets aimed at Beth or Atomic or Zeea or any of the other staff that are not apparently straight/cis/male.
Hurr hurr me tough moderator type. Yeah, jog on, faggot. You're as thin skinned as the rest of the mod squad running that forum into the ground.

EDIT: LL's original ban was, in my studied opinion, pathetic bullshit to start with. No matter what we might think of LL (and I'm sure at least some of it's justified), that initial ban was for her voicing disagreement over the political moratorium, and questioning the mod tendency towards snotty snarking. She also pointed out the surreality of bitching about the responses given in an open fucking thread about the topic.

So yeah, the Wyzard is a faggot.

Oh yes, I forgot about that. Here's the ban in question.

Amusingly, in one of the few examples of mod-on-mod action, Q99 slapped JamesCat with a 2-day for replying to Dorsai with 'go fuck yourself you rancid shitstain'. Even more amusingly, it seems that soured JamesCat on RPGnet, as he hasn't been on since May of 2020, and hasn't posted since that day. Now, I suppose JamesCat could be jerking off behind the scenes on mod-only forums, but I'm not sure I buy that line of thought.
Here is your regular reminder that JamesCat used to be, a British expat journalist working for the Global Times. This fine rag is the subsidiary of the Peoples' Daily, the PRC's own propaganda arm. Just looking at their current front page should tell you about the moral foundation's of JamesCat's anti-ICE posturing:

globaltimes.png

But that's OK. It was OK for JamesCat to regularly refer to the PRC as "my employers", and it was OK for him to spew pro-PRC, anti-western propaganda the way his owners liked it. After all, he just got paid for the same thing a lot of other RPGNet posters were doing for free. It was also OK, because, as per this 2011 post, the owner was a "maverick":

That makes it OK. Thanks, JamesCat! What a fine man! He has two books! Here is the second, reviewed by Important Leftist Newspaper:

And of course, he now works for "a magazine". Just a little boutique nothing you may not have heard of.

That's OK too. You can be a disgusting PRC apologist; if you have the correct credentials about Orange Man, ICE, and white people, you will always be welcomed back to the fold.

OK, this I did not know. Jesus Fucking Christ how horrifying.

But hey, Orange Man Bad, so CCP cocksucking is just good common sense!

The Berlin Wall wasn't to keep East Germans out of their own country. It was for the commie shithole to keep their prisoners in.
Doesn't mean that it won't be impossible to do the opposite and blame it on some cartel guy shooting at them.

Strong border control is part of maintaining a nation/state. You can't get much more civilized than that.
Strong border control includes legible immigration rules. Most of our mess at the southern border is explicitly by design, and not just by the Democrats. If we want to maintain control over our borders, we need to start by restoring basic respect for rule of law as an asset rather than a liability.

>The US immigration system is illegible
>Therefore the US has no right to secure it's borders

How are these interconnected? You can't insist there is a moral obligation to have a 'legible' system (whatever that is) if a nation doesn't even have the fundamental right to control it's borders.

Wow, okay. Anyway, I'm talking less about "rights" and more about basic consequences, although "rights" isn't a bad way to encode consequences.

Anyway, I didn't say "the US has no right to secure it's borders"; are you saying "the US has the right to pretend to secure its borders using any means necessary, even means that don't in fact secure its borders?" Because at this point I suspect that that's what you're saying, but I'm still putting some effort into extending the benefit of the doubt.

I'm saying that every country has the right, as part of their basic sovereignty, to secure their borders. I'm shitposting hypotheticals where we have armed patrols cutting down every border hopper and displaying the consequences of an illegal crossing. You seem to be saying that 'aha but this section of immigration law is hard to understand therefore you don't get to have a border, checkmate'. So I feel like we're talking past one another.

Okay, let me try to put the goalpost back in its original spot.

If you attempt to secure your borders by *sadistically slaughtering someone who tries to cross*, and make a public spectacle of it for PR purposes, when you clearly have the resources to manage things more humanely, and when managing things more humanely would cost less resources, then you have abandoned civilization.

Kind of depends on the kind of people who are trying to cross, hypothetically speaking.

But in the context of Mexicans, all you have is the mules and the occasional felon.
