TGWTG Nostalgia Chick / Lindsay Ellis / TheDudette - aka Hotdogs in face girl

Been out of the thread all day and see that it jumped a shit ton of pages. Lets see what I missed!

(reads through it all)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sarah Silverman was off complaining about cancel culture recently when they went after her.

I've got the same response to Lindsay that I gave to Silverman:

You helped create this. I don't feel sorry for you. Now lay in the bed you made for yourself.

Hey Lindsay... now's your chance to make a new backstabbing e-fwen!
Hey Lindsay... no really. Do it. Dooo it. May I help you with your order?

The worst part is, Ellis is kind of right. Asianification of western culture is worse than it's ever been, and the only thing worse than the Asians themselves (who, face it, don't give a fuck about the west except to cash in) are the weebs and people catering to weebs who realize if they make pseudo Asian crap it'll sell. And because weebs have no taste, they immediately gravitate toward the easiest product to consoom, that's been pre-chewed for them so they can swallow it like the baby food that it is. Instead of just admitting that the stuff they like is crap and Product, they get defensive and lash out at Ellis the one time she actually remembers she's supposed to criticize things.

Is ATLA the meter stick of Asian-inspired literature/content? Or is Lindsay a basic?
From what I've heard, yes A:TLA is that good as people say it is. I've heard nothing but glowing praise for it. And special mention is given to Zuko's character arc. And it's not just Asian inspired/anime inspired things: it's usually said to be one of the best things in western animation. No, I'm not speaking hyperbole. People have talked about A:TLA in those descriptions and people usually say it's that warranted.

Ellis isn't any better than movieblob, she'll be back on Twitter with her attention whoring soon enough anyone ties to sarkeesian or channel awesome lack sanity and self esteem.

Ellis needs that validation, she can't survive without it.

It's true. The sequel...not so much, but it has its moments.

Well yeah, Avatar is good. I'm just wondering if Raya is patterned after it or it can stand on its own. If it can stand on its own is Lindsey so basic that if she sees an Asian-inspired thing he immediately compares it to the only Asian-inspired thing she knows, Avatar?

Haven't seen it, but here's an Honest Trailer if you want a briefing.

Her biggest 'crime' is not wording her reasonable thought using the proper Woke Mob™ verbage.

If she'd have said: "Very problematic that anime has been so thoroughly colonized by white people that tropes from Avatar -- an American series with essentially no Asian representation at all, despite appropriating pan-Asian culture and aesthetics -- have, ironically, circled back around and are now being used in franchises with far better representation such as Raya. Just goes to show you how insidious and pervasive white supremacy is!", it'd have conveyed basically the same thought, but the people trying to cancel her now wouldn't be saying shit, because the optics of doing so would be that they were disagreeing with her about 'white supremacy bad' or whatever other dumb shit they pretend to care about for ally cookies.

If you hit enough leftoid shibboleths, you can literally say just about anything. Most people end up cancelled for style, not substance; they let their guard down and accidentally talk like a normal fucking person and get jumped for it.

Man, that's the least Southeast Asian story I've heard that claims to be Southeast Asian. And heh, they can't get Filipino actors when they outpopulate Chinese, Koreans, and Japanese in LA? I thought it's the current year and Disney still thinks all Asians look alike?

Maybe now that Lindsay Ellis is cancelled, we can get her to join the farms and weigh in on the "Trad vs Karen" question.
Some day there is going to be a very big heel turn from super woke to super based by a noteworthy canceler turned cancelee. It'll be like that scene in 2001 with the ape discovering how to use the bone as a weapon.

But for now there's not one who hasn't buckled under and cucked out to the mob.

I wouldn't trust someone even if he did flip. I'd probably trust him even less. You don't just 180 on everything overnight after getting cancelled because you've had a genuine revelation; you do it because it's convenient. People like Lindsay deserves to be pariahs.
