General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

So Miko and Marine's Tokimeki Memorial stream got privated. I poked around to check why, and here's a little rundown:

-Miko and Marine briefly talked about the plot of a yaoi doujin on stream.

-Author of said doujin had a melt down on twitter saying why are they profiting from his/her work and author is not.

-Author deleted tweets (and also the account?) but others have already gotten screenshots/copy of it.

-It got traction and was used as ammo, mainly against Miko. Apparently people were discussing the legalities of reading doujin on stream and hating on her for making fun of the plot(?). Some people started dislike bombing her recent streams.

-Marine privated the stream so that the issue doesn't go big.

-Its trending on JPN twitter.

Holy moly I actually am in utter disbelief while typing this. I dont think Miko and Marine even read the doujin on stream in the first place, just talked a little about the plot. Is stuff like this really a big deal there?
The Japanese watching this kind of stuff is already autistic and volatile. The antis are that, but they're also high off a-logging. This is just what they do, but thankfully this is almost not an issue if not for retards blowing it up on Twitter.

Half of every controversy Cover has ever been involved in can be summarized as some bunch of autists losing their minds over nothing. If they showed any pictures of it there could be some copyright violations going on because fair use essentially doesn't exist in Japan, but more likely it's just the group of people looking for anything to get into a frothing rage over that every vtuber has following them around.

EDIT: Author backtracked and apologized, saying they should have handled it in private. Kinda reminds me of that Hololive Alternative guy that got booted by Cover.
Just more turboautists being turboautists, not a real concern for the Elite one but probably still annoying for them. Sounds like the artist was being a faggot and trying to get some clout but then realized how gay he looked to everyone who wasn't already raging about the pink haired waifu.

most of them doesn't even know what's going on and just jump on the autism wagon, fuckin fujoshit frothing from their ass over vtuber laughing at their comic book about gaymen

I would normally find this issue funny if not for the fact that a stream needed to be privated. I was planning on watching that sometime tonight darn it.

Lunacy. At least be Soo Min Park, his replies are not attention-seeking and he is just an autist with a good intention.

Why are Japanese artists these autistic? Seriously, being mad over minor things online instead of talking about it privately is not professional at all.

That's the whole reason why people even do this. Japanese culture is so submissively apologetic that they'll get a reaction for anything if they screech about loud enough. Telling them to blow it out their ass and ignoring it is just not an option, they have to do something about it.

That's really all it boils down to.
NipAnti's will poke and prod until they catch a Yab and push it as far as they can.
Reminds me of the art incident involving Amatsuka Uto.
Some autist lost their shit over not getting paid $15 for art they did for her, and after being reimbursed behind the scenes by her, proceeds to chimp out on Twitter about it anyway.
Anti's caught the scent and ran with it; which made things way too hot for the artist, who had to roll it all back because Twitter meltdowns do not look good on a resume.

I think I'm starting to notice a pattern here.

Has anyone else caught any of the recent streams with ironmouse and CDawgVA? lol their thirst flirting with each other is almost what I believe could be considered cute.

did you archive anything by any chance

Japanese companies are typically very risk-averse.
I mean, yes, that was sort of my point. I just don't think it only in regards to YouTube. Rather, well, just as Coco said - as Hololive gets bigger, that more spotlight is on it, the rules "had to" change. As a sort of "playing it safe" reflex in general - now that more people are watching Cover, they're playing it safe. Or tried to, anyway. Who knows what the rules are now. It might have all been struck down again, anyway. Hopefully so.

Here is a screenshot of the author's new bio if that counts. I dont trust google translate so if anyone can...?

I was searching for the VOD with the intention of watching it so it didnt occur to me to archive stuff while I look for answers as to why its gone, my bad.

I'll check and see if someone did though, and edit this post if ever.

EDIT: 同人誌朗読 <--this is the tag that is trending in twitter.

EDIT2: I checked the tag. Author is mad because they earned money while making fun of the plot of the doujin it seems, not the mention of the doujin itself. There are some minor outcry on copyright, but apparently people are more angry because they made fun of the plot. Like 'what if the author retires their pen' or something.

EDIT3: Went to the vt Miko split thread. I cannot verify this since I havent watched the vod, but people there say that Miko and Marine aren't even laughing at the doujin, they are laughing because Miko put the doujin in the freezer as a prank to Marine.

I am over this ridiculous thing.

Always liked this funposting cat. Her comment reminds me of how Null said you'd know he's been compromised if he ever starts talking about Cricket passionately. Little cues like this are fun.
Kind of a shame everyone really only talks about Hololive, but I guess if people started mentioning lesser known VTubers then retards would flood their chat and scare them into hiding.

I think there's really something to the idea of how most of the Vtubers today--at least those who aren't making five figures and getting figma merch--are really just socially retarded nerds who lack personal human connection, especially due to the exceedingly separated society Japan has become. I remember Watame crying about how her own father didn't want her and would have given her to an orphanage because he viewed her as a nuisance, or how Doggo is actually autistic to some extent, or how Marine really is anxious about growing older and unable to get married, or the Rabbit one genuinely finding lewd discussions uncomfortable despite being a grown woman (apparently living with her mother). Miko has health problems, Coco burst into tears when someone congratulated her on her hard work, etc.

TL;DR These anime faces are masks, obviously, but unlike most streamers in the West whose facade is for attention alone, the ones from Japan--at least with Vtubers--are mostly all lonely or anxious people. They aren't looking to climb a fame ladder, make bank or even really to get attention per se. Rather, they just want to connect with others.
Why else would someone stream for hours to an audience of 70 viewers tops with no superchats ever? They just want to have fun with someone and not smile alone.

Looking at Vtubers in their more sincere moments and in light of Japan's growing social isolation problems, even the most jaded soul can at least appreciate this aspect of them...even if most of them talk like a dog toy stepping on a Lego.

I really don't understand the issue the dude has with Miko. She didn't read from it or show panels right? She just talked about it. Why is that such a huge deal? It's free publicity.

"They publicly laugh at author, who put their soul in their work"
"The way they had the doujhin in the fridge is disrespectful to the author"
"It's like someone took the drawings of that guy at the back of the class and read it aloud to everybody"

That's how jp snowflakes look like, eh. Doesn't seem to be anything about copyright, at least in public outcry.

lmao so she also egosearch

Very on brand with Indonesian net public figure

I will never understand the Japanese obsession with shotas and lolis. Is it the fact that they're rare enough with the aging population and that they're not producing enough kids that they've resorted to incentivizing child-birth? Or is it just a really weird, niche thing that's amplified within Japanese weebo bubbles?
The theory on the book of Otaku Database Animal make it sounds like they like it purely for the simulacra to fill their empty life, consuming works with database that works similarly like tropes and the like. If anything, I think it has something to do with how the Shinto faith put purity above all, and perhaps the perceived innocence of shota and loli attracts the subconsciouness of the japanese that's rooted on the Shinto belief

This is still tarded as hell. That's some short temper they have if a little joke triggered the author that much. But looking at the followers count, its more like insecurity that's the reason behind this all
